The Cardinal Men's Team Stand in Third, Women in Fourth After Thursday at the ACC Championships

ATLANTA -- The University of Louisville men moved to third place and the women stand at fourth after the Thursday night finals at the 2026 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.Â

The Virginia women stayed in first with 786 points followed by Stanford's 662 and Cal's 621. Louisville moved to fourth ahead of NC State (507), Pitt (354.5), UNC (261.5), Miami (248), FSU (223), Notre Dame (220), Duke (215.5), Virginia Tech (208), Georgia Tech (204), SMU (155) and Boston College (48).Â

On the men's side, Cal took the lead with 622 just ahead of Stanford's 596. Louisville is next at 521 ahead of NC State (505), Virginia Tech (369.5), FSU (350.5), Notre Dame (320), UNC (299.5), Virginia (281.5), SMU (275), Pitt (244), Georgia Tech (236), Miami (162), Boston College (86) and Duke (68).Â

In the B-final of women's 400 Individual Medley, Louisville's Kim Herkle touched third with a time of 4:07.64. to score points for the Cardinals.Â

There were three Cardinals in the A-final of the men's 400 Individual Medley. Swimming in the outside lane, Tommy Bried took the lead late as he tried to defend his title from a year ago, but he was out-touched at the end, going 3:40.15 to win bronze.  Gregg Enoch was fourth with a 3:40.21. Jackson Millard touched fifth in 3:41.29 but was later disqualified on a turn violation. Stanford's Josh Zuchowski held off Cal's Ryan Erisman, going 3:38.58 to win gold by .36.Â

In the 100 fly, Stanford's Torri Huske sheared 1.86 off her prelim time to throw down a 48.26 for gold. UofL's Emma Welch was second in the B-final with a time of 51.37 and Caroline Larsen was fifth in that same heat, going 51.77.Â

The Cardinals had five swimmers earn second swims in the men's 100 butterfly. In the A-final, Rian Graham touched sixth with a 44.99 and Aiden Musso was seventh, clocking in at 45.20. In the B-final, Aidan Paro was sixth, turning in a 45.93. In the C-final, Charlie Crush went 45.62 for third and Thomas Powers-Hammond was eighth in 46.44.Â

Daria Golovaty won the B-final of the 200 freestyle and Summer Cardwell touched fourth. In the C-final, Julia Dennis was second in 1:45.07, and Thilda Hall was fourth, posting a 1:46.70. Xeniya Ignatova boarding a 1:47.79 for sixth.Â

Guy Brooks was the lone 200 freestyler for the Cardinals, but he was in the A-final where he finished sixth with a time of 1:31.92.Â
