The Cardinals are one of 12 teams that will participate in the first season of the CSL.
AUSTIN, Texas – The University of Louisville swimming program has been selected to participate in the inaugural season of the College Swimming League, as announced by the league on Thursday.
The Cardinals are the eighth of 12 teams to be announced by the league that will be competing in the first season of the CSL. Other participating institutions include Alabama, Auburn, California, Georgia, Michigan, NC State, and Virginia, while the remainder of the field will be announced over the next four days.
The CSL is a brand-new, dynamic league poised to revolutionize college swimming with high-octane fan-focused competition. The inaugural season will kick off in the fall of 2026 and feature a six-match regular season and a two-match postseason in a four-team match format, with each participating institution competing in two regular season matches.
"Louisville is exactly the kind of program we wanted in our first season," said College Swimming League CEO Rob Kent. "They show up ready to race, they've got a fanbase that travels well, and they make every meet they're in more competitive. We're excited to have the Cardinals as part of our debut."
"Arthur [Albiero] is one of the best coaches in the sport, hands down," added league COO Kyle Sockwell. "He's built Louisville into a program that competes with anyone, any day, anywhere, and that's exactly what they'll need to be able to do in the CSL."
Further details regarding scheduling will be made available at a later date. Fans are encouraged to visit CollegeSwimmingLeague.com or follow the league's Instagram account at @collegeswimmingleague for the most up-to-date information pertaining to the league.
