Cards Earn Three Podium Finishes to Wrap Up Day 3 of NCAAs

Gorbenko, Dennis, and the 400-medley relay claim First Team All-American honors
ATLANTA – The No. 8-ranked University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team earned First Team All-American honors in three events as UofL stands in eighth place as a team to wrap up the third day of competition at the 2026 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming and Diving Championships at Georgia Tech's McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
The Cards' 144.5 points sits behind Virginia (437.5), Texas (272), Stanford (242.5), Tennessee (240.5), Michigan (228), California (199), and Indiana (176).
In the 200 breast final, Anastasia Gorbenko tied for third with a time of 2:05.24, claiming her third First Team All-American honor of the meet. Stanford's Lucy Bell posted a 2:02.38 to win the event for the second year in a row. Virginia's two-time Olympian Aimee Canny took second at 2:03.09, and Duke's Kaelyn Gridley matched Gorbenko for third at 2:05.24.
In the 50 free final, senior sprinter Julia Dennis took fifth with a time of 21.15, securing First Team All-American honors in the event for the third straight year. Stanford's three-time Olympic gold medalist Torri Huske won the event at a pool-record time of 20.66. UVA's Olympian Sara Curtis took second at 20.74, with Tennessee's Camille Spink (20.98) in third and Texas' Eva Okaro (21.05) in fourth.
The 400-medley relay squad of Camille Murray, Gorbenko, Ella Welch, and Dennis closed the night with an eighth-place time of 3:25.58, claiming First Team All-American honors. Virginia won the event at 3:20.66.
Saturday's events include the 200 IM, 100 free, 200 fly, 200 back, 400 free relay, and platform diving. Prelims are set for 10 a.m. ET with finals slated for 6 p.m. ET. Live results will be available on the Meet Mobile app and DiveMeets, and the meet will be streamed on ESPN+.
