Cards Release 2026-27 Schedule

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville swim & dive team released its 2026-27 schedule that includes 20 meets, five of which are at home while 15 are on the road.
UofL will open its season participating in the inaugural College Swim League, a new league that features 12 of the best teams in the country competing in a four-team format across eight matches that includes a wild card and championship. The Cards will head to Westmont, Ill., taking on Indiana, Michigan, and Ohio State for the first match on Sept. 24.
Louisville will make its debut at Ralph Wright Natatorium to host Xavier on Oct. 2. In 2025, the Cardinals won 196-91 on the men's side, and 192-67 for the women. The Cards have started their dual meet season against Xavier for seven straight years, and the Musketeers have not beat the Cardinals in the last 17 contests.
UofL will then travel to Knoxville, Tenn., to compete in its second College Swim League match on Oct. 9, this time against Virginia, Michigan, and Tennessee. The event is a tournament style in which teams can qualify for an eventual wild card and championship match.
Louisville will resume its dual meet season in South Bend, Ind., to face Notre Dame on Oct. 22. Last season, both the Cardinal men and women dominated the Fighting Irish 213-84.
The Cards will fight for a wild card spot in the College Swim League, which will take place in Indianapolis, Ind., on Nov. 5. The teams in the wild card will be determined by results from the previous matches.
UofL will head to Columbus, Ohio, to compete in the Ohio State Invite once again. The four-day invitational will take place on Nov. 17-20, giving athletes a taste of postseason competition with a prelims and finals format.
The Cardinals will wrap up the fall with the Toyota U.S. Open in Austin, Texas, on Dec. 2-5, followed by USA Winter Diving Nationals in Midland, Texas on Dec. 9-15.
UofL will kick off the spring on the road, heading to Columbia, Mo., to take on Missouri on Jan. 8. Earlier in 2026, the Cards swept the Tigers at home, with the men winning 198-101 and the women prevailing 205-90.
Louisville will send select swimmers to the Tyr Pro Series in Nashville on Jan. 13-16, before heading to Lexington Ky., to face in-state rival Kentucky on Jan. 23. The Cards dominated the Wildcats in 2025, with the men winning 209-91 and the women coming out on top 218-82.
After nearly four months on the road, the Cardinals will return to Ralph Wright Natatorium to host Indiana on Jan. 29, and Cincinnati on Jan. 30. UofL will recognize its seniors for Senior Day prior to the match against the Bearcats.
