2025-26: At the NCAA Championships, Jake earned Second Team All-American honors in the 200 breast and as a part of the 400 Medley Relay squad. He put up a time of 52.26 in the 100 breast and was 14th in the 200 breast (1:51.96). He was a part of the 15th place 400 medley relay, swimming the breast leg in 51.27) as the Cards went 3:02.83. At the ACC Championships in Atlanta, he scored 38 points. He was 31st in the 200 IM (1:45.90), 12th in the 100 breast (52.18) and was on the seventh place 400 medley relay (3:03.04). He was seventh in the 200 breast (1:53.56). During the Dual Meet Season: Against Xavier, Jake Eccleston placed second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 56.48. He also placed second in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:03.02. At the SMU Classic in Dallas, he competed in the 200 breaststroke, where he finished second in the championship heat with a time of 1:55.98. Jake then swam in the consolation heat of the 200 IM, where he finished second with a time of 1:49.22. Against Notre Dame, Eccleston won the 100 breaststroke with a 52.95 time. Against Missouri, he won the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:56.44 and then swam in the 200 IM and finished second with a time of 1:49.90. Against Cincinnati, Jake got third in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 54.56. In his final event of the day, he swam the 200 individual medley in exhibition in 1:51.67 seconds. At the Texas Showdown, he was fourth in the 100 breast (53.15).
2024-25: Jake competed at the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washington where he earned All-American honors in the 200 breast, finishing sixth with a time of 1:50.19. He swam the 100 breast with a 51.48 that placed him 17th. At the ACC Championships, he won the B-final of the 100 breast with a time of 51.49. He was fourth in the 200 breast (1:51.03).Jake competed at the USA Swimming National Championships in Indianapolis where he finished ninth in the 200M breaststroke with a time of 2:12.54. He was 29th in the 100M breast (1:02.63) and 23rd in the 50M breast (28.57). During the dual meet season, he swept the breaststroke events versus Cincinnati and was second in the 200 breast versus Indiana with a time of 1:54.39. Against rival Kentucky, he was second in the 200 breast with a time of of 1:56.45 and was third in the 100 breast, posting a 53.79. At Missouri, he had a pair of third places in the breast events going 54.33 in the 100 and 1:57.63 in the 200 breast. Versus Purdue, he was second in both the 100 breast (54.27) and the 200 breast (1:56.25). At the Tennessee meet, he was second in the 200 breast (1:57.11) and third in the 100 breast (54.25). He competed at the SMU Classic where he was eighth in the 100 breast (53.41), seventh in the 200 breast (1:55.40) and 10th in the 200 IM (1:49.12).
Prep: Jake comes to the Ville from Severance, CO where he was a standout breastroker and IMer. He did his club swimming for the Fort Collins Area Swim Team with coach Mike Novell. Jake won both the 100yd breast and 200yd IM at the 2024 CHSAA State Championship Meet. He also placed first in the 100yd and 200yd breast at the 2023 Speedo Winter West Championships, setting Colorado state records in both those events. This came after winning the 200yd breast and placing sixth in the 100yd breast the year prior at the 2022 Speedo Winter West Championships. At the 2023 USA Swimming Futures Championship in San Antonio, Eccleston finished on the podium in the 400m IM, 200m IM and 200m breast, while taking gold in the 100m breast.
