Gorbenko Swims Fastest 100 IM of All-Time as Cards Take Third at College Swim League

Gorbenko’s time of 51.43 breaks Kate Douglass’ previous record of 51.97 set back in 2023
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Louisville swimmer Anastasia Gorbenko swam the fastest women's short course yards 100 IM of all-time with a 51.43 as the No. 12/8-ranked University of Louisville men's and women's swim teams took third place in its second match of the College Swim League on Friday evening at Allan Jones Aquatic Center in Knoxville, Tenn.
The Cards scored 315.5 points and won five individual events. Virginia won the match with 567 points, while Tennessee took second (535) and Michigan finished fourth (302.5).
Gorbenko had a historical night, winning three events that included the fastest women's short course yards 100 IM performance of all-time with a 51.43. Her dominant time breaks Kate Douglass' previous record of 51.97 set back in 2023. Gorbenko also set a program and College Swim League record to win the 200 breast with a 2:04.53. She capped her stellar night with another College Swim League record in the 100 breast, winning with a 57.35.
The men's team showed out after winning two individual events on the night. Finnley Conklin got the action started after winning the men's 50 breaststroke skins event. The sophomore swam a 24.78, 24.59, 24.61 and a 24.66 to secure victory. Nikita Sheremet once again had an electric outing in the 50 free. The sophomore set a College Swim League record with a blazing 18.86 to win the event.
