Bio
2024-25: Aidan qualified for the USA Swimming Nationals in Indianapolis where he finished 13th in the 100 fly (52.76) and 18th in the 50 fly (24.18). At the ACC Championships in Greensboro, he was 16th in the 200 fly (1:43.00) and 17th in the 100 fly (45.85). During the dual season, he had a third place finish versus Xavier in the 200 fly (1:49.08), was second in the 200 IM (1:47.31) versus Tennessee and won the 100 fly against Purdue with a time of 46.65. At the Ohio State Invitational, he was fourth in the 200 fly (1:43.56) and 9th in the 100 fly (46.32). In the meet with Missouri, he was third in the 100 fly and had a pair of third places against Kentucky where he went 47.05 in the 100 fly and 1:46.72 in the 200 IM. In the meet with Indiana, he was fourth in the 200 fly (1:44.02) and was second in the 200 fly against Cincinnati, stopping the clock at 1:43.57.
2023-24: At the ACC Championships in Greensboro, he finished 11th in the 200 fly with a time of 1:44.23. He was 26th in the 100 fly (46.83) and 25th in the 200 IM (1:47.04). He qualified for the US Olympic Trials in the 100M butterfly. During the dual meet season, he placed fifth in the 200 fly (1:49.34) and sixth in the 200 IM in 1:51.54. At Missouri, he was third in the 100 fly (48.31), fourth in the 200 fly (1:48.03). Against Kentucky, he was fourth in both the 100 and 200 fly and third in the 200 IM. In the double dual meet with Wisconsin and Indiana, he was fifth in the 200 fly (1:45.92) and sixth in the 100 fly (47.46). Versus Cincinnati, Aidan was second in the 200 fly (1:46.30).
Prep: Aidan comes to the Ville from Jacksonville, Fla. Where he swam for the Bolles School under Coach Peter Verhoef. He was the state runner up in the 200 IM in 1:46.54 (SCY) and a bronze medalist in the 100 Fly (SCY) at the Florida 1A State Championships.
Personal: Son of Thao Hoang and Erick Paro. Major is biochemistry. Born Jan. 8, 2005.
