2025-26: Max qualified in three events for the ACC Championships: the 500 free (4:23.93), the 200 free (1:37.68) and the 1650 free (15:16.22). During the Dual Meet Season: Max Hatcher participated in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:18.45, placing second against Xavier. He also swam in a 500 freestyle exhibition with a 4:38.03 time. Hatcher competed in his final event, the 400 freestyle relay, with a time of 47.16. In the Notre Dame meet, he was third in the 1,000 freestyle with a time of 9:08.93. Max swam in the 1,000 freestyle against Missouri, where he placed first with a time of 9:08.12 and was second in the 500 freestyle exhibition with a time of 4:28.50.
(2024-25) at Texas: Max transfers to the VIlle after a season at the University of Texas. There, he competed at the Texas Invitational in the 200 free with a time of 1:38.23, set a PB in the 500 free (4:21.06) and was eighth in the 1650 free in 15:10.41. He swam the 1000 free in 9:06.87 in the win against Indiana. In the summer of 2025, he placed third in the 800M Free (8:31.22) and was fourth in the 400M Free at the USA Swimming Futures Championships in Justin, Texas. At the 2025 Indy Summer Cup, he was fifth in the 800M Free (8:27.19) and 10th in the 400M free (4:04.47). He was second in the 500 free with a time of 4:23.25 at the Speedo Sectionals in Austin.
Prior to Texas: Hatcher was the No. 3 recruit in 2024 class from the state of Texas. In 2024, he was the Lewisville Speedo Sectionals 400 IM Champion and was the 2024 2x UIL 6A State Championships finalist and was the 2024 UIL Region 500 Free Champion.
