No. 15/8 Cardinals Down Cincinnati on Senior Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The 15/8 University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team downed Cincinnati Saturday afternoon at the Ralph Wright Natatorium. The No. 8-ranked Cardinal women won 204-90 and the No. 15-ranked Cardinal men won 205-88.

The Cardinals were buoyed by multiple event winners. Dalton Lowe won the 100 back, 100 fly and was on both winning relays and Gabi Albiero won the 50 free, the 100 fly and was on both winning relays as well. Christiana Regenauer won the 100 free and both relays. Murilo Sartori won the 200 and 500 freestyle and Rye Ulett won the 100 back, 500 free and the 400 IM. Tommy Bried won the 200 fly and the 400 IM and Guy Brooks won the 100 free and was on the winning 200 Free Relay. Diver Lindsay Gizzi swept both boards.

In the first event of the meet, the Louisville 200 Medley Relay team A-relay team of Christiana Regenauer (24.60), Cecilia Viberg (27.84), Gabi Albiero (22.81) and Tristen Ulett (22.11) put together a time of 1:37.36 for the win. The Louisville B-relay touched second in 1:38.65 put up by Karoline Barrett (25.02), Kim Herkle (27.78), Ella Welch (23.39) and Julia Dennis (22.46).

In the men's 200 medley relay, the Cardinals A-relay team of Dalton Lowe (21.30), Denis Petrashov (23.61), Charlie Crush (20.66) and Caleb Duncan (19.41). The B-relay team of Jackson Millard (21.64), Grant Gooding (23.79), Aidan Paro (20.93) and Guy Brooks (19.29) combined for a time of 1:25.65.

In the 1650 freestyle, Louisville's Paige Kuwata posted the winning time of 16.26.83. On the men's side, Cardinal freshman Kayden Lancaster touched first with a time of 15.39.98. Fellow Card Tyler Watson was third, checked in at 15:53.22.

Paige Hetrick won the 200 freestyle for the Cardinals with a time of 1:45.31 with teammate Tristen Ulett right in her wake for second with a time of 1:46.58. Madie Hall was fourth in 1:48.53 and Julia Dennis was sixth with a time of 1:49.35 in an exhibition swim. On the men's side, Murilo Sartori led a 1-2-3 sweep with his winning time of 1:34.88. Gustavo Saldo was next with a 1:35.88 and Matias Santiso was third in 1:36.79.

UofL's Rye Ulett won the 100 back with a time of 53.92 with teammate Ally Boynton touching third in 54.55 and Kim Herkle was fourth, going 54.84. On the men's side, Dalton Lowe ran away with the 100 back, putting up a time of 46.34 and the win. Finishing third was Cardinal Drew Collins with a 48.84 and Mateo Micheli was fourth in 49.35.

Fernanda Celidonio won the 100 breaststroke for the Ville with a time of 1:01.96 just ahead of teammate Cecilia Viberg's 1:02.02. Adry Kasemets was fourth with a 1:03.25. Denis Petrashov won the men's 100 breast with a time of 54.23, holding off teammate Aidan Kreiley down the stretch. Kreiley putu p a 54.35 and Cardinal freshman Grant Gooding was third in 54.46.

In the 200 butterfly, Summer Cardwell put up the winning time of 2:00.54. Paige Kuwata touched three seconds later for second with a time of 2:03.90. Tommy Bried won the men's event for the Cardinals with a time of 1:43.89. UofL's Aidan Paro was second in 1:46.30.

Gabi Albiero led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 50 free for the Cardinals with a time of 22.29. Ella Welch was second (22.48) and Lucy Mehrabann was third (23.03). Â UofL's Guy Brooks won the men's 50 free with a time of 20.09, edging teammates Charlie Crush's 20.10. Caleb Duncan was third in 20.11 in a tightly-contested finish.

Lindsay Gizzi won the 3M springboard for the Cards, posting a 337.13 with Grace Leonard placing third with a score of 270.60. Gizzi won the 1M as well with a 293.70 and Leonard was second with a score of 278.18.

In men's 1M diving, UC's Will Claus won with a score of 351.68. UofL's Che Stephens placed second with a score of 328.43, Adam Sneden was third (295.20) and Rayce Winn (284.33). Sneden won the 3M springboard with a score of 350.78. Rayce Winn was third with a score of 327.23.

Christiana Regenauer won the 100 freestyle for the Cardinals with a time of 48.75. The Cardinal teammates of Fernanda Celidonio and Karoline Barrett tied for second with a time of 48.65 and freshman Bianca Costea finished the top four sweep with a 50.37 in exhibition. For the men, the Ville's Guy Brooks won the 100 free with a time of 43.81. Teammate Matias Santiso was second in 43.84.

In the 200 backstroke, Kim Herkle put up the fastest time with a 1:56.74 for the win followed by Jordan Durocher (1:57.82) and Zoe Vogelmann (2:01.21) completed the sweep for the Cards. Jackson Millard won the men's event for the Cardinals with a time of 1:39.41 and teammate Drew Collins was third with a 1:48.52.

In the 200 breaststroke, Ella Welch notched the win for the Cards with a 2:13.25. Adry Kasemets was fourth with a time of 2:20.71. UofL's Aidan Kreiley won the men's event wit ha time of 1:56.31, just ahead of teammate Luke Shourds time of 2:00.97 and Grant Gooding's third place time of 2:02.30.

Gabi Albiero won the women's 100 fly for the Cards with a time of 51.75 leading a 1-2-3-4 sweep of the event. Karoline Barrett was second (53.30), Tristen Ulett was third (53.71), and Paige Hetrick was fourth (54.13) Dalton Lowe won the 100 butterfly for the Cards with a time of 46.97, edging teammate Charlie Crush's 47.36 and Gustavo Saldo's 48.91 for second and third respectively. In the 500 freestyle, Rye Ulett turned in the winning time of 4:52.11 for the Cards. Maddie Luther was second with a 4:57.19. On the men's side, Murilo Sartori won for the Cards with a time of 4:23.08. Kayden Lancaster was second in 4:29.36.

Rye Ulett won the 400 IM with a time of 4:14.68. Summer Cardwell had the next fastest time with an exhibition swim of 4:16.43 and Jordan Durocher swam an exhibition time of 4:18.31 just .06 faster than Paige Kuwata. In the men's 400 IM, Tommy Bried was first into the wall, clocking in a 3:45.99.

In the 200 free relay, Gabi Albiero (22.96), Christiana Regenauer (20.74), Julia Dennis (21.56) and Ella Welch (22.00) combined for a time of 1:27.26 for an NCAA A-Cut and a pool record. The men's team of Dalton Lowe (20.14), Charlie Crush (19.47), Guy Brooks (19.97) and Caleb Duncan (19.47) put up the winning time of 1:18.75.

The Cardinals were buoyed by multiple event winners. In the 1650 freestyle, Louisville's Paige Kuwata posted the winning time of 16.26.83. On the men's side, Cardinal freshman Kayden Lancaster touched first with a time of 15.39.98. Fellow Card Tyler Watson was third, checked in at 15:53.22.

Paige Hetrick won the 200 freestyle for the Cardinals with a time of 1:45.31 with teammate Tristen Ulett right in her wake for second with a time of 1:46.58. Madie Hall was fourth in 1:48.53 and Julia Dennis was sixth with a time of 1:49.35 in an exhibition swim. On the men's side, Murilo Sartori led a 1-2-3 sweep with his winning time of 1:34.88. Gustavo Saldo was next with a 1:35.88 and Matias Santiso was third in 1:36.79.

UofL's Rye Ulett won the 100 back with a time of 53.92 with teammate Ally Boynton touching third in 54.55 and Kim Herkle was fourth, going 54.84. On the men's side, Dalton Lowe ran away with the 100 back, putting up a time of 46.34 and the win. Finishing third was Cardinal Drew Collins with a 48.84 and Mateo Micheli was fourth in 49.35.

Fernanda Celidonio won the 100 breaststroke for the Ville with a time of 1:01.96 just ahead of teammate Cecilia Viberg's 1:02.02. Adry Kasemets was fourth with a 1:03.25. Denis Petrashov won the men's 100 breast with a time of 54.23, holding off teammate Aidan Kreiley down the stretch. Kreiley putu p a 54.35 and Cardinal freshman Grant Gooding was third in 54.46.

In the 200 butterfly, Summer Cardwell put up the winning time of 2:00.54. Paige Kuwata touched three seconds later for second with a time of 2:03.90. Tommy Bried won the men's event for the Cardinals with a time of 1:43.89. UofL's Aidan Paro was second in 1:46.30.

Gabi Albiero led a 1-2-3 sweep of the 50 free for the Cardinals with a time of 22.29. Ella Welch was second (22.48) and Lucy Mehrabann was third (23.03). Â UofL's Guy Brooks won the men's 50 free with a time of 20.09, edging teammates Charlie Crush's 20.10. Caleb Duncan was third in 20.11 in a tightly-contested finish.

In men's 1M diving, UC's Will Claus won with a score of 351.68. UofL's Che Stephens placed second with a score of 328.43, Adam Sneden was third (295.20) and Rayce Winn (284.33). Sneden won the 3M springboard with a score of 350.78. Rayce Winn was third with a score of 327.23.

Christiana Regenauer won the 100 freestyle for the Cardinals with a time of 48.75. The Cardinal teammates of Fernanda Celidonio and Karoline Barrett tied for second with a time of 48.65 and freshman Bianca Costea finished the top four sweep with a 50.37 in exhibition. For the men, the Ville's Guy Brooks won the 100 free with a time of 43.81. Teammate Matias Santiso was second in 43.84.

In the 200 backstroke, Kim Herkle put up the fastest time with a 1:56.74 for the win followed by Jordan Durocher (1:57.82) and Zoe Vogelmann (2:01.21) completed the sweep for the Cards. Jackson Millard won the men's event for the Cardinals with a time of 1:39.41 and teammate Drew Collins was third with a 1:48.52.
