2024-25: At the NCAA Championships in Federal Way, Washinton, Denis was national runnerup in the 100 breast, posting a 50.27. He was fourth in the 200 breast, boarding a 1:49.37. He split 22.80 in the breaststroke leg of the 200 Medley Relay that finished 10th and swam the breaststroke leg in the 400 Medley Relay when the Cards finished 12th with the help of his 50.24 split. At the ACC Championships in Greenboro, he won gold in the 100 breast with a time of 50.62. He won bronze in the 200 breast, clocking in a 1:50.35. He swam the breast leg of the 200 Medley Relay, posting a 22.98 as the Cards touched fifth. In the the 400 Medly Relay, he swam a 50.95 breaststroke split as the Cards finished eighth. During the dual meet season, he swept both breast events against rival Kentucky winning the 100 in 52.70 and the 200 in 1:55.71. He swept both breast events at Missouri as well, going 50.87 in the 100 and 1:53.68 in the 200 breast. At the Ohio State Invitational, he was third in both the 100 breast (51.19) and the 200 breast (1:52.74). In Columbus, he also was on the winning 200 Medley Relay team with his breaststroke leg of 22.74. Denis led helped the Cardinals to a win over No. 8 Tennessee with a sweep in all three events in which he swam. He earned first place in the 100 breast (52.01), 200 breast (1:54.04) and 200 medley relay (1:23.96 – 23.23 split) and earned ACC Swimmer of the Week. Versus Purdue, he swept both breast events, turning in the winning time of 52.78 in the 100 and a time of 1:54.85 in the 200. He also was named ACC Swimmer of the Week when he earned three first-place individual finishes in Louisville's season-opening win against Xavier. He began the meet with a win in the 100 breast (54.33) and the 200 breast (1:58.75). He also was a part of the winning 200 medley relay team with a time of 1:29.01 (24.61 split). At the SMU Classic, he won the 100 breast (51.50) and was second in the 200 breast (1:52.97)In Budapest at the World Short Course Championships, he was fourth in the 100 breast (55.91) and 13th in the 200 breast (2:06.45) and 18th in the 50 breast.
2023-24: At the World Championships in Doha, Qatar, he was 10th in the 200M breast, ninth in the 50M breast and 13th in the 100M breast. At the NCAA Championships in Indianapolis, Denis placed third in the 100 breast with a time of 50.91. He was 17th in the 200 breast (1:52.75) and was on the 11th place 400 medley relay (3:03.26). At the ACC Championships in Greensboro, Petrashov was fourth in the 100 breast (51.10) and won silver in the 200 breast (1:50.81). He was on both the fifth-place 200 medley relay team that posted a 1:23.44 and the fifth place 400 medley relay team that went 3:03.83. During the dual meet season, he swam at SMU Classic where he won both the 100 breast (51.95) and 200 breast (1:55.88) and was on the winning 400 medley relay (3:07.76) and the third place 200 medley relay (1:26.79). He had three wins at the Tennessee meet, sweeping the breast events and was on the winning 200 medley relay. At the Notre Dame meet, he won the 200 breast (1:57.22) and was on the 200 medley relay team that touched first in 1:26.49. He swept both breast events at Missouri as well as the 200 medley relay. Against rival Kentucky, he won both the 100 breast (52.34) and the 200 breast (1:55.17) as well as the 200 medley relay (1:24.84).
2022-23: Denis Petrashov has been a stalwart presence in breaststroke for the Cardinals. At the NCAA Championships, he was third in the 100 breast, earning All-American honors with a time of 50.78 to set a new school record. He won the consolation final in the 200 breast with a time of 1:51.23 for ninth overall. In the 200 medley relay, he split 22.79 in the breaststroke as the Cards finished seventh in 1:22.43. At the ACC Championships, he scored 60 points for the Cards. He started the meet with a bronze medal swim on the 200 Medley Relay team that went 1:23.59 with his split of 23.29. He won gold in the 200 breaststroke with a time of 1:50.51 to set a new school record. He won silver in the 100 breast with a 51.26. He won bronze in both the 400 Medley Relay (3:03.37) with his split clocking in a 50.43. He began the dual meet season with three wins against Xavier, sweeping both breaststroke events and helping the Cards win the 200 Medley Relay. Against Tennessee, he was second in both breast events as well as the 200 Medley Relay. At Notre Dame, Kentucky, Missouri and Cincinnati , he swept both breast events and helped the Cardinals win the 200 Medley Relay. At the Purdue Invitational, he was the winning 200 and 400 Medley Relay teams. Against Indiana, he won both the 100 and 200 breaststroke and was second in the 200 medley relay. In December, he participated in the FINA World Championships swimming the 25M and 100M breaststroke for Kyrgyzstan and won gold medals at July’s 2022 Maccabiah Games in the 100M and 200M breaststroke. In June of 2022, he put up a 2:11.88 in the prelims to advance to the semi-finals. In the semis, he knocked off .88 his prelim time to swim 2:11.00 and finsh15th overall.
2021-22: Petrashov had a strong first season for the Cardinals. At the NCAA Championships, he finished 17th in the 100 breaststroke (51.92) and 24th in the 200 breaststroke (1:53.57). Petrashov had several solid swims in the ACC Championships. He finished runner-up in the 200 breaststroke (1:51.89) and seventh in the 100 breaststroke (52.14). Petrashov racked up nine top-4 finishes during the dual meet season. Against Cincinnati, he won a trio of gold medals in the 100 breaststroke, the 200 breaststroke, and the 200 medley relay swimming the breaststroke leg. Petrashov had two second place finishes against Kentucky in the 100 breaststroke and 200 medley relay (breaststroke) and one fourth place finish in the 200 breaststroke. Petrashov started his season against Indiana finishing 3rd in the 100 breaststroke, 4th in the 200 breaststroke, and 4th in the 200 medley relay (breaststroke).
