
Cards Send 21 Swimmers to the Day 3 Finals at the ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Louisville men's and women's swimming team will send 21 Cardinals into the finals after the Day 3 preliminaries at the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships. Competition will begin at 5:30 ET.

Louisville will send two Cardinals to the A-final of the 400 IM after Kim Herkle (4:12.61) and Rye Ulett (4:14.49) were among the top eight in prelims. Paige Kuwata will swim in the B-final after posting a 4:16.54. Jordan Durocher turned in a 4:21.01 but did not advance.

Tommy Bried will be the top seed coming into the finals of the men's 400 IM after besting the field with a time of 3:42.36. Jackson Millard went 3:47.25 to qualify tenth and make tonight's B-final as will Tyler Watson, who went 3:48.53.

The Cards will send three to the 100 fly finals with Gabi Albiero qualifying second overall with a time of 51.15. Christiana Regenauer will join her in the A-final after going 51.33. Karoline Barrett will race in the B-final after clocking in at 52.80.

For the men's 100 fly, Dalton Lowe posted the second fastest time of the field to make the A-final with a 45.38. Aidan Paro will be the alternate after turning in a 46.83. Mateo Miceli (47.21) and Charlie Crush (47.52) did not advance to the finals.

Paige Hetrick made the A-final in the 200 freestyle after clocking in at 1:44.72. Three Cards will swim in the B-final led by Summer Cardwell's 1:46.21 followed by Tristen Ulett's (1:46.30) and Lucy Mehraban's 1:46.65. Fernanda Celidonio (1:46.81) and Julia Dennis (1:47.11) will swim in the C-final to score for the Cards. Madison Luther (1:48.67) and Madison Hall (1:47.52) round out the Cards in the event.

Guy Brooks won his prelim heat with a 1:33.51 to make the A-final. Joining him in that final heat will be Murilo Sartori, who posted a 1:33.72. The B-final will feature Gustavo Saldo (1:34.40) and Denis Loktev (1:34.17). Distance specialist Ilia Sibirtsev changed gears and made the C final for the Cards, turning in a 1:35.06. Matias Santiso stopped the clock at 1:37.05 and Vlad Dubinin checked in at 1:37.18 to round out the Cardinals' entries.
On 3M springboard, Adam Sneded scored a 257.30, Rayce Winn posted a 254.10 and Che Stephens boarded a 223.40. Â
