No. 11 Louisville Men's Swim & Dive Defeat Purdue 194-105

LOUISVILLE, Ky. --Â The No. 11 University of Louisville men's swimming and diving team came out on top against Purdue in a dual meet Friday afternoon at the Ralph Wright Natatorium, seeing the Cardinals outscore the Boilermakers 194-105.
Louisville's effort was propelled by multiple event winners. A pair of Cardinals won multiple events in Denis Petrashov, who swept the breast events, along with teammate Tommy Bried who posted the top time in both the 200 fly and 400 IM. Juniors Elijah Shoyat and Charlie Crush came on top in the 1000 free and 50 free, respectively. Aidan Paro finished first in the 100 fly. Murilo Sartori posted the top time in the 200 free, while teammate Jackson Millard touched first in the 200 backstroke. Freshman Gregg Enoch finished first in the 500 free.

In the men's 200 relay, Louisville's A team of Yassin Abdelghany (21.57), Denis Petrashov (23.22), Dalton Lowe (20.16), and Guy Brooks (19.15) combined for the top time of 1:24.10, which was fast enough for a NCAA B-cut time. Louisville's B team, with a time of 1:26.08, finished in second, with times from Charlie Crush (21.62), Jake Eccleston (24.84), Rian Graham (20.62), and Matias Santiso (19.00). Purdue's A team of Idris Muhammad, Ray Whittaker, Brady Samuels, and Dominic Mazurek finished in third.
In the grueling 1000 freestyle, Eli Shoyat touched first with a time of 9:04.21, beating Purdue's Patrick Broderick's time of 9:05.92. The Boilermakers' Evan Mackesy and Gabe Eschbach rounded out the top four.Â
Louisville's Murilo Sartori (1:34.73) and Gregg Enoch (1:35.20) finished top two, respectively, both posting NCAA B-cut times in the 200 free. The Cards' Matias Santiso rounded out a top three sweep in the event with a time of 1:36.42.
In the 100 backstroke, Purdue's Brady Samuels was first to finish with an NCAA B-cut time of 46.83, with Louisville's Jackson Millard (46.83) coming in second, also posting a NCAA B-cut time. Louisville's Filip Kosinski (47.24) finished third.

Denis Petrashov touched first in the 100 breaststroke, with a NCAA B-cut time of 52.76, with teammate Jake Eccleston following with a time of 54.27. Purdue's Ray Whittaker (54.86) rounded out the top three.
Louisville's Tommy Bried (1:44.06), Mateo Miceli (1:45.66), and Aidan Paro (1:45.67) swept the top three of the 200 butterfly. Bried had an NCAA B-cut qualifying time. Purdue's top swimmer in the event was Wyatt Blair, posting a time of 1:49.28.Â
In the 50 free, Charlie Crush (19.78), Guy Brooks (20.00), and Aiden Musso (20.05) of Louisville completed a sweep of the top three. The threesome of Cardinals each finished with NCAA B-cut times.Â

In 1M diving, Purdue's Jordan Rzepka posted the top score of 369.00. Louisville's Ray Pres posted the top score for the Cardinals of 319.13, finishing fifth.

In the 500 free, the Cards secured three of the top four spots, with Gregg Enoch posting the NCAA B-cut top time of 4:20.32. Teammates Eli Shoyat (4:24.28) and Gustavo Saldo (4:27.00) finished second and fourth, respectively. Patrick Broderick of Purdue finished third with a time of 4:30.28.

Brady Samuels of Purdue won the 100 free with an NCAA B-cut time of 42.59. The Cards followed with the three next best times; Guy Brooks had the top Louisville time of 43.09 which is an NCAA B-cut time. Matias Santiso (43.34) and Murilo Sartori (43.42) came in third and fourth, respectively.Â
In the 200 backstroke, Jackson Millard turned in the winning time of 1:42.89 for the Cards, an NCAA B-cut qualifier. Teammate Filip Kosinski (1:44.10) finished second. Blake Rowe posted the top time for Purdue, finishing in 1:45.22.
Louisville teammates Denis Petrashov (1:54.85) and Jake Eccleston (1:56.25) claimed the top two in the 200 breaststroke, both posting NCAA B-cut times. Teammate Tommy Bried finished third, touching in 1:59.40. Purdue's Ray Whittaker posted the fourth-place time of 2:00.49.

In the Men's 3M diving, Purdue's Jordan Rzepka came out on top with a score of 412.95. Louisville's top diver, Che Stephens (319.88) finished in sixth.

UofL's Tommy Bried touched first in the 400 IM, posting a NCAA B-cut time of 3:44.36. Purdue's Matheo Mateos and Evan Mackesy finished in second and third place finishes in the event, respectively

In the 200 free relay, the Louisville B relay team of Yassin Abdelghany (20.08), Aiden Musso (19.55), Matias Santiso (19.48), and Murilo Sartori (19.62) posted the winning time of 1:18.73. Purdue's A relay finished in 1:19.81 thanks to the efforts of William Jost, Nathaniel Thomas, Connor McCarthy, and Brady Samuels.
