FEDERAL WAY, Wash. --Â The No. 8-ranked University of Louisville women's swimming & diving team set a school record, had two national runners-up and stand in fourth place as a team in the second day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Washington.

UofL has 106.5 points, trailing only Virginia (225), Stanford (178), and Texas 152.

Julia Dennis, who had to duel two Olympians in the 50 free finals, touched third with a time of 21.20, just shy of her own school record. Virginia's Gretchen Walsh won the event with a 20.49 with teammate Claire Curzan edging in for second place with a time of 21.11.  Joining Dennis in the championship heat was Gabi Albiero, who turned in a swim of 21.78 for seventh. Caroline Larsen finished sixth in the consolation final after boarding a 21.85.

In the 200 free relay, Caroline Larsen led off with a 21.80, handing it over to Julia Dennis, who went 20.63. Third in the water was Gabi Albiero, who boarded a 21.38 and Ella Welch anchored with a 21.23 to touch second. Virginia's foursome took the title with a time of 1:24.45 put up by Gretchen Walsh, Claire Curzan, Maxine Parker, and Anna Moesch.

Action continues tomorrow with prelims beginning at 1 p.m. ET and will feature the 400-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly 10. 200-yard freestyle, 100-yard breaststroke 100-yard backstroke, three-meter diving  and the 400-yard medley relay.
