No. 5/3 Louisville Complete Day 3 of Ohio State Invitational

COLUMBUS, Ohio. – The No. 5-ranked University of Louisville men's swimming and diving team comes in at second place after day three of action at the Ohio State Invitational at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. The No. 3-ranked women stand at third place after Thursday's competition.
The Cardinal men ended the day with 1331.5 points, trailing only No. 3 Indiana (1906 points). The UofL women sit at 1404 points, behind No. 10 Indiana (1404.5 points) and No. 14 Ohio State (1530 points).
Race-by-Race Recap
Freshman Julie Mishler was third in the A-Final of the 100 back with a time of 51.90. Joining her in that heat was Camille Murray, who went 52.73 and freshman Xeniya Ignatova finished 12th overall, posting a 53.34. Rian Graham was the top finisher in the men's race with a fifth place time of 45.67. Jackson Millard was also in the A-final, touching 8th with a 46.12 just ahead of Filip Kosinski's ninth place time of 46.27.
Mia Cheatwood won the 200 breaststroke, battling IU's Maria Najji, who was second in 2:07.82 and Cardinal Kim Herkle, who touched third with a time of 2:07.82. In the men's 200 breast, Penn State's Mariano Lazzerini's 1:50.93 was good enough to get him into the wall first. Louisville's Jake Eccleston was third, turning in a 1:52.10 and Finnley Conklin boarded the ninth place time of 1:57.15.
In the 500 freestyle, Ohio State's Mila Nikanrov pulled away from the field to post a 4:37.22. UofL's Daria Golovaty was third, stopping the clock at 4:40.98 just edging teammate Leticia Romao's 4:41.56. Summer Cardwell was the third Card in the hit with a seventh place time of 4:44.89. In the men's race, Indiana's Zalan Sarkany turned in the winning time of 4:09.57. Louisville's top finisher was Oscar Isberg, who posted a 4:16.26 for sixth and Gregg Enoch's eighth place time of 4:17.52.
Julia Dennis got the second victory of the night with a win in the 50 free when she turned in a 21.36 for the Cards. UofL's Caroline Larsen was third (21.78), Julie Mishler was fourth in 21.83 with Ella Welch rounding out the A-final with a sixth place time of 22.14. For the men, freshman Nikita Sheremet followed suit by winning the men's 50 free with a time of 18.95, beating Yale's Nick Finch by .01 of a second. Charlie Crush was fourth (19.21), Aiden Musso was seventh (19.41) and Guy Brooks was ninth in 19.49.
In the women's 400 medley relay, IU's A-relay touched first in 3:27.20 but the UofL foursome of Julie Mishler, (52.67), Mia Cheatwood ( 58.29), Ella Welch (50.76) and Julia Dennis (46.39) to put up a 3:28.11 for second. The B-relay team of Camille Murray (52.59), Kim Herkle (1:00.16), Caroline Larsen (51.37) and Daria Golovaty (48.17) touched fourth with a time of 3:32.29. In the men's 400 medley, Indiana's A-relay took top honors with a 3:01.97. The Louisville men were second with a 3:03.74 put up by Rian Graham (45.68), Jake Eccleston (51.68), Aiden Musso (44.71) and Guy Brooks (41.39). The Cards' B-relay team of Jackson Millard (45.94), Finnley Conklin (52.61), Aidan Par (45.50) and Nikita Sheremet (41.88) combined for the sixth place time of 3:05.93.
In diving, Samm Helmboldt placed 10th in platform with a score of 225.75. Samantha Keith scored with a 20th place finish and a 209.55 and Audrée Brazeau-Howes (195.75) and Maud Van Kempen (188.85) were in the C-final. Rayce Winn was 13th on the 3M springboard with a mark of 323.85 and Ray Preas was 21st with a 296.25.
