July 24, 2015 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - The latest Louisville baseball summer notebook is headlined by infielders Nick Solak and Blake Tiberi and outfielder Colin Lyman, who were selected as starters for Saturday night's 2015 Cape Cod League All-Star Game.
Each of the three Cardinals rank among the top four in batting average in the prestigious Cape Cod League through Thursday's action. Solak and Lyman are tied for second in the league in hitting at .330 overall and both rising juniors will start for the West squad in Saturday's game, which is set for 6 p.m., ET at Spillane Field in Wareham, Massachusetts and will be televised on FOX College Sports. Tiberi is fourth in the league in hitting at .326 overall and will start for the East team on Saturday. The three Cape Cod All-Star selections for Louisville is tied for the most for any school, while the trio of starters is a league high.

Louisville players have also performed well in the New England league with pitchers Sean Leland, Kade McClure and Lincoln Henzman leading the way. In the Northwoods League, Logan Taylor, Danny Rosenbaum and Jake Sparger have garnered many of the headlines for the Cardinals in recent weeks.
Listed below is additional information and highlights on the progress of some of the Cardinals during summer league action as well as a complete list of 2015 Louisville baseball summer assignments.
Overall, the Cardinals have 26 underclassmen assigned to five different wooden bat leagues as well as the USA Collegiate National Team this summer. Following the completion of the collegiate summer season, players will return to campus for the fall semester in late August to continue the Cardinals' preparation for 2016.
