CORAL GABLES, Fla. – The University of Louisville baseball team lost a 10-8 contest on Saturday in the series finale at Miami.

Louisville (27-25, 11-16 ACC) lost a back-and-forth affair that featured five lead changes in the first six innings.

Louisville needed just two batters to get on the board in the top of the first. Zion Rose doubled into the left field corner on the very first pitch of the game. The next pitch was bunted by Griffin Crain. The sophomore beat the throw to first, and the throw got away down the line allowing Rose to score.

Miami (35-15, 15-12) responded with a two-run home run in the bottom half to take a 2-1 lead.

The Cardinals jumped back in front with three runs in the second. George Baker and Crain had RBI groundouts, while Rose had a run-scoring single.

A two-out run in the bottom of the second for Miami cut the lead in half at 4-3, but the Cards stretched it out to three with a two-spot in the third on a wild pitch and bases loaded walk.

Miami seesawed back into the lead in its half of the third, hitting a pair of two-run homers to lead 7-6 after three.

Both teams were kept off the scoreboard in the fourth and fifth innings before trading crooked numbers in the sixth.

Tague Davis crushed his 33^rd home run of the season with a man on in the top half of the sixth to give the Cards an 8-7 lead.

The Hurricanes immediately grabbed the lead back though, pushing three across in their half of the sixth for the fifth lead change of the ballgame.

That would be all for the scoring, as both teams went quietly over the final three frames.

Rose, Crain, Lucas Moore and Kade Elam had two hits apiece in the loss.

Louisville will now return home for the final week of the regular season. The Cardinals will host Bellarmine on Tuesday night at 6 p.m. ET at Jim Patterson Stadium.
