Davis Named Finalist for Dick Howser Trophy

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – University of Louisville sophomore Tague Davis was named a finalist for the Dick Howser Trophy announced on Thursday.
Davis is one of five finalists for the award handed out annually to the college baseball player of the year.
UCLA's Roch Cholowsky, UC Santa Barbara's Jackson Flora, Arizona State's Landon Hairston and Georgia's Daniel Jackson join Davis as the finalists.
The sophomore had arguably the greatest offensive season in Louisville program history this spring, setting the program record for home runs with 34 and RBIs with 98.
Davis also set a new ACC record for long balls and became the second Louisville player to earn ACC Player of the Year honors.
The first baseman led Division I in home runs and RBIs during the regular season, becoming the first player to do so since 2003.
The Dick Howser Trophy will be presented at a news conference at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Neb., on Friday, June 12, at 11 a.m. ET.
