FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- Four Cardinals will head to finals after preliminaries in the third day of competition at the 2025 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Federal Way, Washington.

Ella Welch will be seeded fourth going into tonight's 100 butterfly finals after posting a 50.72. Gabi Albiero will also swim in the championship final after going a 50.96 in her preliminary heat. Tristen Ulett finished 17th overall and missed the consolation final by one-hundreth of a second. Virginia's superstar Gretchen Walsh will be the top seed going into the final tonight after throwing down a 47.21.

In the 400 IM, Kim Herkle finished 34th with a time of 4:12.03. Florida's Emma Weyant boarded a 4:01.35 and will be the favorite in tonight's championship final.

Louisville will send two into the consolation final of the 200 free as Amelia Bodenstab turned in a 1:43.67 to qualify 12th and Daria Golovaty took the last finals spot at 16th after boarding a 1:44.18. Summer Cardwell was eighth in her heat with a 1:45.71. Fernanda Celidonio was fourth in her prelim with a 1:44.97 and Lucy Mehraban was third in her heat with a time of 1:45.51. Â Michigan's Stephanie Balduccini had the fastest qualifying time of 1:41.21.

In the 100 breaststroke, Mia Cheatwood went 59.14 for 21st place and Caroline Larsen boarded a 1:00.29. Virginia's Alex Walsh will be the leader going into finals after clocking in at 57.54.

The 400 medley relay, a timed final and 3-meter diving will also run this evening. Finals begin at 9 p.m. ET.Â
