Swimmers from Louisville, Illinois, Kentucky and Notre Dame are racing the clock to improve their times
LOUISVILLE, Ky. --Â The No. 11/8 University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving teams along with competitors from Illinois, No. 25/NR Kentucky and Notre Dame are racing the clock and using the natural team rivalries to attempt to put up faster times for NCAA consideration Friday at the Louisville Last Chance Meet at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

Competition will resume at 5 p.m. this evening at the Ralph Wright Natatorium.

In the women's 200 IM, Louisville's Fernanda Celidonio made the B-standard, finishing with a time of 1:56.24. Coming in behind Gomes was Sophia Yousuf for Illinois, who posted a time of 2:02.48.
Drew Collins put up a 1:46.97 for the men.

In the women's 200 freestyle, Louisville's Summer Cardwell made the B-standard with a time of 1:44.22.

Merve Tuncel from Louisville touched first in the women's 500 freestyle with a time of 4:55.80. Illinois' Taylor Judas finished second, clocking in at 5:01.83, and Louisville's Summer Cardwell came in third with a time of 5:51.36.

In the women's 100 breaststroke, Illinois freshman Gwen Bakker stopped the clock at 1:04.91.

In the men's 100 breaststroke, Kentucky's Adomas Gatulis clocked in at 52.50, making the B-standard.Â

In the women's 200 backstroke, Louisville senior Rye Ulett made the B-standard with a time of 1:54.04. Illinois' Gianna Cappello clocked in with a time of 2:07.71, finishing second. In the men's 200 back, Filip Kosinski went 1:40.80.

In the women's 100 freestyle, Notre Dame's Imogen Meers touched first with a time of 49.44. In second was Illinois' Sophia Yousuf at 49.97. Touching third was Notre Dame's Hollie Widdows with a time of 50.59. Illinois' Maggie Adler finished fourth with a time of 51.38. Clocking in fifth was Illinois' Marin McAndrew at 51.76. Notre Dame's Sailor Whowell stopped the clock at 52.13, coming in sixth. Kylee Sessions of Illinois finished seventh with a time of 52.37, and her teammate Gianna Cappello brought up the rear with a time of 57.19.
In the men's 100 free, Matias Santiso went 43.55 for the win, followed by Ethan Chauliaguet (44.65), Rob Ehrenborg (45.68), and Aidan Musso (54.43) took the top four spots.Â
In the 200 butterfly, Kentucky's Maddy Hartley turned in a 1:57.64 and Notre Dame's Lainey Mullins went 1:58.71. In the men's 200 fly, Aidan Paro went 1:42.80 and Thomas Powers-Hammond (1:44.47) and Gustavo Saldo (144.85 battled it out for second.Â
