
Cards Send 21 to Finals on Day 2 of ACC Championships

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The No. 11/8 University of Louisville Cardinals will send 21 swimmers into tonight's finals at the 2025 Atlantic Coast Conference Swimming and Diving Championships after Wednesday's preliminaries at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The Cardinals will also swim the 200 Free relay tonight in addition to the 21 individual event finals.

In the women's 500 free, Summer Cardwell posted a time of 4:42.17 to finish third in her heat. Daria Golovaty was fourth in her heat with a time of 4:43.84. Both Cardwell and Golovaty will swim in the B-final this evening. Freshman Amelia Bodenstab was third in her heat with a time of 4:41.63 and made the A-final as the sixth seed tonight. Leticia Romao boarded a 4:44.27 for sixth in the final heat and earned a second swim in the B-final.

In the men's 500 freestyle, freshman Gregg Enoch clocked a 4:15.53 for fourth in his heat and just missed the A-final by .06 of a second but will be the top seed in the B. Murilo Sartori was in the same heat, turning in a 4:21.26. Denis Loktev went 4:17.42 in his heat and earned a second swim in the B-final as the 8th seed. Eli Shoyat rallied late to turn in a 4:18.48 which puts him in the C-final tonight. Gustavo Saldo turned in a 4:20.80 to tie as the 8th seed in the C-final.

In the women's 200 Individual Medley, UofL will send three into tonight's finals, led by Fernanda Celidonio, who put up the top time for the Cards with a 1:56.51 to make the A-final. Tristen Ulett made the B-final after swimming 1:56.85 in her prelim Kim Herkle boarded a 1:57.63 to make the C-final. Rye Ulett went 1:58.96 and Camden Doane checked in at 2:01.48. Â Â Mia Cheatwood turned in a time of 2:01.03.
Diver Rayce Winn made the finals of the 1-meter springboard with a score of 334.15.

In the men's 200 IM, Jake Eccleston finished fifth in his heat with a time of 1:46.59. Jackson Millard finished third in a fast heat with a 1:43.70 and will return in the B-final. Aidan Paro earned a spot in the C-final with a 1:44.52. Jake Eccleston clocked in at 1:46.59 to place fifth in his heat.

Six Cardinal sprintcesses will be on the blocks in the 50 freestyle finals tonight led by Julia Dennis, who turned in a 21.44 to make the A-final. Joining her in the A will be Caroline Larsen, who put up a 21.76. Gabi Albiero is the third A-finalist, earning her lane with a time of 21.88. Lucy Mehraban made the B-final with a 22.09 and Ell Welch, who won her heat with a 22.12, will join her in that B. Abby Karl turned in a 22.30, good for the C-final.

In the men's 50 free, Â Guy Brooks went 19.32 to make the B-final and Dalton Lowe will swim the C-final after going 19.39. Matias Santiso clocked in at 19.91 and Rian Graham posted a 19.54.
