
Cardinals Land in 14th After Day 2 at NCAA Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- After two days of racing, the University of Louisville men are in 15th place at the 2024 NCAA Men's Swimming Championships at the Indiana Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI.

The Cardinals finished 14th in the 200 free relay finals, putting up the fifth fastest time in school history with a 1:16.15 put up by Dalton Lowe (19.20), Matias Santiso (19.29), Guy Brooks (18.84) and Vlad Dubinin (18.89).

Through seven events, Arizona State leads with 169 points. Cal is in second with 135 points. Rounding out the top five is Florida (161), Indiana (107), Texas (106), NC State (98), Tennessee (86), Stanford (84), Auburn (67), Virginia Tech (61), Georgia (57), Michigan (48), Ohio State (42), Notre Dame (39), and Louisville (30) to round out the top 15. Â .

The meet resumes tomorrow at 10:00 a.m. ET with the prelims of the 400 IM, 100 butterfly, 200 free, 100 breaststroke, 100 backstroke and the 3-meter dive.

The University of Louisville has nine swimmers and three relay alternates in the field. Tommy Bried, Guy Brooks, Denis Loktev, Dalton Lowe, Jackson Millard, Denis Petrashov, Gustavo Saldo, Murilo Sartori and Ilia Sibirtsev have qualified in individual events.  Matias Santiso, Charlie Crush and Vladimir Dubinin will serve as relay alternates. The Cardinals also qualified all five relay events.
