
Nineteen Cardinals Head Into Finals on Last Night of the ACC Championships

19 Cards and the milers are off the blocks tonight at the GAC
GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The University of Louisville swimming and diving team will send 19 Cardinals to the finals tonight in the final session of racing at the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Championships at the Greensboro Aquatic Center.

The Cardinal men are sitting in fourth and the women are third going into the last night. The 1650 free will also be run all afternoon with the top qualifiers racing in the evening session in the timed finals as will the 400 Free Relay.

All three Cardinals entered in the 200 back will return tonight for the finals, led by Paige Hetrick's 1:53.91 and Rye Ulett's 1:54.57 which puts them both in the A-final. Jordan Durocher will also return in the C-final after posting a 1:58.07.

Both of the men in the 200 back will return, both in the B-final led by Jackson Millard's 1:41.77 with Mateo Miceli clocking in at 1:42.90.

The Cardinal "sprintcesses" will be in four lanes in the A-final of the 100 freestyle led by Gabi Albiero's 47.39. Joining her will be Christiana Regenauer (47.75), Julia Dennis (48.03) and Lucy Mehraban (48.61). Ella Welch will pick up points for the Cards in the B-final after turning in a time of 49.01.

Guy Brooks will lead the men's sprinters in the 100 freestyle when he comes back to swim the B-final after posting a time of 42.41. Matias Santiso (43.11) and Murilo Sartori (42.75) will swim in the C-final.

In the 200 breast, Kim Herkle earned a second swim and will race in the A-final after posting a 2:09.04. Fernanda Celidonio will swim in the C-final with a 2:15.32.

Denis Petrashov made the A-final with his prelim time of 1:53.79. Tommy Bried made the B-final with a 1:55.28. Luke Shourds (1:57.37) and Aidan Kreiley (1:57.88) will return to swim in the C-final.
