Women's Swimming Finals in Four Events and Sets Two School Records

Worrell puts up second fastest relay split in history
The University of Louisville women's swimming and diving team put finalists in four events in the first full day of racing at the at the McAuley Aquatic Center on the campus of Georgia Tech.Â

In the first event of the day, the Cards qualified 9th in the 200-free relay with a time of 1:28.28 put up by Andrea Kneppers (22.9), Kelsi Worrell (20.8), Mallory Comerford (21.8) and Andrea Cottrell (22.6). Worrell was the only swimmer under 21 seconds with a 20.84 the second best split in NCAA history.

In the 500-free Mallory Comerford advanced to the A-final with qualifying time of 4:38.24, good for seventh place. Andrea  Kneppers  went 4:45.90 and Marah Pugh went 4:48.02, and Houck 4:49.07.

In the 200-IM, freshman Rachael Bradford finished 19th, dropping 0.3 from her previous personal best in 1:57.15.

Kelsi WORRELL set a new school record in the 50-free with a 21.57, seeding her second after the preliminaries. Georgia's Olivia Smoling was the top qualifier with a 21.48 to set up a duel in tonight's A Final.

The Cards set another school record and qualified second in the 400-medley relay. Alina Kendzior (53.06), Andrea Cottrell (58.09), Kelsi Worrell (49.25) and Mallory Comerford (47.8) combined for a time of  3:28.24.

Andrea Acquista finished 33rd in the 1-meter springboard with a score of 262.05
