February 19, 2026 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team heads to the Lone Star State for the Amegy Bank College Baseball Series at Globe Life Field in Arlington. The Cards will take on Nebraska, Michigan and Auburn. Television coverage will be available on FloCollege with radio coverage on 970 WGTK.
DEEP IN THE HEART OF TEXAS
Louisville is playing an in-season tournament in Texas for the third time in the last four years. The Cardinals swept through Texas A&M, TCU and Michigan in Houston in 2023. Louisville played in Arlington to start the 2025 campaign, defeating Texas and Arizona with a loss to Oklahoma State sandwiched in between.
MIDWEEK OFFENSIVE EXPLOSION
The Cards broke out at the plate on Tuesday night in a 23-11 win over Xavier. The 23 runs were the fifth-highest output of the Dan McDonnell era, while the 23 hits were tied for the second-most. Eight different Cards recorded multiple hits. All nine starters scored at least one run on the night, while eight of nine drove in multiple runs.
ARLINGTON OPPONENTS' SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game with Nebraska will be the first time the two teams have met in Dan McDonnell's tenure, having last played in 1998. Louisville and Michigan squared off in Houston in 2023, with the Cards needing just seven innings for a 10-0 victory. The last time Auburn and Louisville met was a 5-3 UofL victory in Omaha in 2019.

PLAYER NOTES
- Lucas Moore had a special sophomore season that resulted in All-America honors. Moore was the national leader in stolen bases with 53, the first Power Four player to swipe 50 or more since Trea Turner in 2012. He also finished second nationally with 85 runs scored, the most by a Louisville player in more than 30 years. Moore started 2026 right where he left off last year, going 9-for-20 with five runs scored and 4-for-4 in stolen bases.
- Wyatt Danilowicz led the Cards with 28 appearances on the mound in 2025, posting a 2.70 ERA in 33.1 innings with 52 strikeouts. All 32 of his career appearances entering 2026 had been made out of the bullpen. That changed in the opening weekend, as the southpaw started the finale of the Michigan State series. His first career start was nearly flawless as he allowed just three baserunners over a career-long six innings of work and set a career high with nine strikeouts, earning him ACC Pitcher of the Week honors.
- Bayram Hot split time at second base in 2025 in his first season with the Cardinals after transferring from Marist. As a senior now in 2026, Hot slides over to third base, a position he played during his freshman season. The Queens, N.Y., native has nine hits over the first four games, including matching his career-high with four knocks in the middle game of the opening series against Michigan State.
- Tague Davis announced his presence at the plate in 2025, setting the Louisville freshman home run record with 18 long balls in his first season. The first baseman tied for the ACC regular season lead in home runs and was the first Louisville freshman to hit double-digit homers since Alex Binelas in 2019. Davis launched his first homer of 2026 on Tuesday against Xavier.
- Alex Alicea is the anchor in the middle of the infield for the Cards as he returns at the shortstop position. The junior hit .307 last season despite playing the back half of the season with an injured thumb that forced him to only hit from the left side of the plate. Alicea finished third in the ACC with 34 stolen bases and was a semifinalist for the Brooks Wallace Award. After starting the season 0-for-9, Alicea is 7-for-11 in the last two games.
- Ethan Eberle worked his way from middle innings reliever to a high leverage bullpen spot, to ultimately starting on the weekends for the Cards as a freshman. The southpaw finished with a 6-2 overall record in 20 appearances, making 10 starts. Eberle started the clinching games in both the regional and super regional rounds, combining to allow just two runs over 11.1 innings in wins over Wright State and Miami.
