Four Cardinals Selected on Day Two of 2026 MLB Draft

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program had four players selected on Sunday in the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft.
Lucas Moore (Round 5, Pick 155, Cleveland Guardians), Wyatt Danilowicz (Round 8, Pick 249, Philadelphia Phillies), Bayram Hot (Round 10, Pick 308, New York Yankees) and Jake Bean (Round 11, Pick 333, Cleveland Guardians) had their names called on day two of the draft.
The quartet joins Zion Rose in the Cardinals draft class after Rose was selected with the sixth overall pick on Saturday by the Kansas City Royals.
Louisville has now had 116 draft picks during Dan McDonnell's 20-year tenure. This marks the 12th time the Cardinals have had at least five players chosen.
Moore wrapped up his Louisville career as one of the top baserunners in program history. Over three seasons, the centerfielder collected 182 hits for a .317 average in 171 career games. He notched 107 stolen bases for his career, including 53 during his All-American sophomore season in 2025, ranking second on the career and single-season charts. Moore also ranks 10th in program history with 178 runs scored.
Danilowicz's career at Louisville was one of resilience. The southpaw pitched just 2.2 innings over his first two seasons while battling through an injury. He made his return to the mound as a reliever in 2025 and became one of Louisville's top bullpen weapons on its way to the College World Series. Danilowicz then moved into the Friday night starter role as a senior. He finished his career with a 4-4 record in 46 career games, tallying 140 strikeouts in 105.0 innings.
After playing a pair of seasons at Marist, Hot transferred to Louisville for his final two years. The Queens, N.Y., native split time at second base as a junior before moving to the hot corner and starting all 57 games this season. In 93 career games at Louisville, Hot hit .329 with 18 doubles with 12 homers and 63 RBIs. He wrapped up his collegiate career earning All-ACC accolades as a senior.
Bean joined the Cardinals for one season after transferring to Louisville from Kent State. The right-hander pitched in 14 games for the Cards, making eight starts. Bean posted a 2-3 overall record with 31 strikeouts in 35.0 innings.
