September 19, 2025 | Women's Soccer
Louisville now has eight clean sheets on the season.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's soccer team tallied another clean sheet on its way to a 1-0 victory over Clemson on Friday night at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium.
Louisville (9-2-0, 2-1-0 ACC) recorded its eighth shutout of the season and its sixth in the last seven matches.
The Cards had an early opportunity just over 15 minutes into the match. Emersen Jennings got on the end of a long ball into the box, but her shot attempt was tipped over the crossbar by the Clemson keeper.
Louisville would strike less than five minutes later though. Liza Suydam played a ball into the center for AG Gibson, and the sophomore played a perfect through ball into the center of the box.
Amelia Swinarski beat the Clemson backline to the pass and slotted the shot home into the bottom left of net for her team-leading seventh goal of the season.
The Louisville defense would take care of the rest, keeping the Tigers off the scoreboard for the duration.
Clemson (3-2-5, 0-1-2) was limited to just five shots on the night, none of which were on target. Friday marked the third time this season the Cardinals have kept their opponent without a shot on goal.
The Cardinals will wrap up their three-match conference homestand next Thursday, welcoming Miami to Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium. Kickoff is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET.
