LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's soccer team is a win away from breaking its program record in consecutive wins heading into its contest against Cal. The Cards and Golden Bears will face off on Sunday, September 20 at 4 p.m. ET with the game to be broadcast on ACC network Extra.

Louisville (8-1-0, 2-0-0 ACC) is on a program-best eight match winning streak heading into Sunday's match, tying the mark first set in 2011. The Cards are coming off their first ranked win of the season over No. 6 Stanford, which is their first win against a top 10 opponent since they defeated No. 9 Vanderbilt 1-0 in overtime on September 15, 2019.
Sophomore forward Karina Peat scored a goal following a defensive tackle by AG Gibson in the fourth minute of the contest to go up 1-0, a score that would hold until the end thanks to Louisville's high press defensive effort. Goalkeeper Brielle Baker tallied a career-high five saves and her first 90-minute clean sheet to help defeat the Cardinal.
Ka. Peat is having a surge to start her sophomore season and is the team leader in goals (6), assists (7) and points (19). She leads the ACC in assists and assists per game (0.78) while also landing in the top 10 in points, goals, game-winning goals (3), goals per game (0.67) and points per game (2.11).
Since its scoring outburst, UL is one of the strongest offenses in the country, landing in the top 10 in the assists (34), goals (30), points (94), corners per game (9.0), assists per game (3.78), points per game (10.44), scoring offense (3.33), shots per game (19.67) and win-loss-tied percentage (0.889).

Cal is led by Miriam Hils and Elhom Khursand, who each a have a team-high four points on the season.
