No. 15 Louisville battles to 1-1 rain-soaked draw at Clemson
October 10, 2026 | Women's Soccer
CLEMSON, S.C. — The No. 15-ranked Louisville women's soccer battled to a rain-soaked 1-1 draw at Clemson on Saturday night, extending its program best unbeaten streak to 12 straight matches.
In what was a relatively dry first half, neither team was able to create much offense. The Cardinals tallied seven shots to Clemson's (6-3-4, 2-2-2 ACC) one in the first 45 minutes, getting three on goal.
Louisville (9-1-3, 3-0-3 ACC) broke the stalemate in the 80th minute, thanks to a bit of good luck. Brooklyn Lee sent a pass across the box, but, due to the pouring rain put the pass on net rather than to a teammate. Lee's shot ultimately bounded off Clemson goalkeeper Nona Reason into the far post and finally into the net to put the Cardinals on top 1-0.
Clemson scored in similar fashion as the heavy rain continued to fall. In the 85th minute, Regan Thompson sent a pass into the box that sailed a bit high and ultimately just out of reach of Brielle Baker, finding the back of the net to even the score at 1-1.
UofL turned in 12 shots to Clemson's five. The Cardinals also collected more corner kick opportunities, carding six to the Tigers' two.
No. 15 Louisville will have a healthy break before its next match, earning 13 days off. The Cardinals return to the pitch on October 23, hosting Syracuse at Dr. Mark & Cindy Lynn Stadium at 7 pm E.T.
