King Jr., Rose Named CSC Academic All-Americans

The pair are the sixth and seventh Academic All-Americans in Louisville baseball history.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program had a pair of student-athletes recognized on Tuesday as the College Sports Communicators released the 2025 Academic All-America® baseball teams.
Eddie King Jr. and Zion Rose were each voted to the Academic All-America second team, King as a DH and Rose as an outfielder.
The pair are the sixth and seventh Academic All-Americans in Louisville baseball history and the first since Nick Solak in 2016.
King closed out his four-year career with the Cardinals in a huge way in 2025. The senior led the Cards with a .367 average to go along with 19 doubles, 17 home runs and 63 RBIs, all career-highs. King was a major catalyst for Louisville in the postseason, hitting .500 with three homers and 11 RBIs while earning Most Valuable Player honors at the Nashville Regional and a spot on the All-Tournament Team at the College World Series. In the classroom, King earned his degree in Sport Administration this spring, graduating with a 3.63 grade point average.
Coming off a freshman All-America season in 2024, Rose was outstanding in his sophomore campaign. The Chicago native hit .310 with 16 doubles, 13 homers and a team-leading 67 RBIs this spring. Rose was also a menace on the basepaths, swiping 31 bases in 34 tries. Rose carries a 3.92 GPA majoring in Psychology and was recognized as the NCAA Elite 90 Award winner for the individual with the highest GPA at the College World Series.
King and Rose helped the Cardinals to a 42-24 record in 2025 and the program's sixth College World Series appearance.
