DAVIS SETS LOUISVILLE FRESHMAN HOME RUN RECORD
Tague Davis had a reputation for big power as a standout at Malvern Preperatory School, and that power has been on full display during his freshman season.
Davis leads the Cardinals and ranks third in the ACC with 16 home runs after his seventh inning blast in game three at Georgia Tech. The freshman has three multi-homer games this season, all coming in ACC play.
Davis leads all freshmen across three levels of NCAA baseball in home runs and has set the Louisville record for home runs by a freshman, surpassing Alex Binelas (14 as a true FR in 2019) and Chris Dominguez (15 as a RS-FR in 2007).

WAKE FOREST SERIES HISTORY
Louisville is 21-10-1 all-time against Wake Forest, with all 32 meetings coming since UofL joined the ACC in 2015. The Cardinals are 11-4 against the Demon Deacons at Jim Patterson Stadium.
TEAM NOTES
- UofL is 61-38-2 in its 100 all-time ACC series (one series ended 1-1, one ended 1-1-1) since joining the league and is 67-31-1 in its series finales during that span, including a 24-18-1 record in rubber games.
- Louisville owns 185 conference wins since joining the ACC in 2015, the most conference wins during that time of any current Power Four school.
- The Cardinals have won 37 of their 49 ACC series at home since debuting in the conference.
- The Louisville offense has tallied double digit hits in 29 games this season, going 25-4 in those contests. The Cards notched at least 10 hits 29 times in 2024, posting a 22-7 mark when doing so.
- Louisville has scored 10 runs or more in 21 games this season, including 11 ACC contests.
- The Cardinals are 32-5 this season when outhitting their opponent and 0-12 when losing the hit battle.
- Louisville is 27-9 when hitting a home run this season.
- Louisville is 24-3 when it limits the opposition to five runs or less and 32-7 when its opponent is kept in single digits.
- The Cards lead the ACC and rank 25th nationally with 43 double plays defensively, including a season-high four in game one at Georgia Tech.
- The Cardinals have 16 come-from-behind wins this season, including five walk-off victories.
PLAYER NOTES
- Lucas Moore has been the ultimate weapon at the top of the lineup for the Cards. Moore leads the Cardinals and the ACC with 75 runs scored, second-most in all of Division I. The speedy outfielder is also pacing the league and second nationally going 44-for-45 in stolen bases. He also ranks second in the ACC in hits, third in batting average, fourth in triples, and sixth in on-base percentage. Moore's 44 stolen bases are currently tied for the second-most in a single season in Louisville history, matching Corey Ray's total in 2016. His 75 runs scored are the ninth-most in program history and the most since three Cardinals had 80 or more in 2009.
- Jake Schweitzer has become a key cog in the Louisville bullpen in his first season with the Cardinals. Since allowing three runs in his collegiate debut, the Louisville native has surrendered just three earned runs in 29.0 innings (0.93 ERA) across 17 relief appearances. Schweitzer has earned his first three career wins in the last month against No. 20 Western Kentucky, No. 2 Clemson and No. 4 Florida State, and a save versus No. 10 Vanderbilt.
- Zion Rose has an exception freshman campaign that saw him hit .380 with 19 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs while finishing with more walks than strikeouts. The 2025 season has seen more of the same but with more damage. Rose is hitting .335 with 28 extra-base hits and a team-leading 56 RBIs. The increase in production hasn't affected his plate discipline though, as he has 25 walks and seven HBPs to just 28 strikeouts. Rose has also increased his production on the basepaths, going 27-for-29 in stolen bases.
- Ethan Eberle began the season as a key reliever for the Cards, but has since moved into the weekend rotation. The southpaw has allowed two runs or fewer in three of his last four starts – at Clemson, at Notre Dame and at Georgia Tech.
