
Louisville Sends Four and a Relay to Finals after Day 2 Prelims

Hay, Albiero, Regenauer and Dennis advance
LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville will send three swimmers to finals along with its 200 free relay squad tonight after prelims Thursday morning at the 2023 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.

Abby Hay, Gabi Albiero, Christiana Regenauer and Julia Dennis advanced and will swim in tonight's finals.

Abby Hay turned in a 1:54.03 to finish second in heat 7 and set a school record which seeds her fourth for tonight's final. The senior dropped a full second off of her qualifying time. Tristen Ulett posted a time of 1:57.12 in heat 5. Virginia's Kate Douglass had the fastest prelim time with a 1:51.81.

Gabi Albiero won heat 6 with a 21.46 which will seed her third tonight's finals. Christiana Regenauer will also advance to tonight's A-final with a 21.68 to be seeded sixth. Julia Dennis set a school freshman record with a time of 21.73 and advanced to the B-final. Fellow freshman Ella Welch went 22.04 in heat 6. Virginia's Gretchen Walsh is the top seed with a time of 21.00.

In the preliminary heats in the 500 freestyle, Rye Ulett finished third in her heat with a time of 4:46.04 Â Liberty Williams put up a 4:45.27 in heat 6. The top seed belonged to Texas Longhorn Erica Sullivan, who put up 4:36.51.
Finals begin at 6 p.m. ET.Â
