
Cardinals Set to Wrap Up Home Slate with Florida State and No. 8 Miami

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville women's tennis team will wrap up their home schedule this weekend when the Cardinals host No. 41 Florida State and No. 8 Miami at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
The Cardinals will play Florida State on Friday at 4 p.m. and Miami on Sunday at noon. The team will honor its seniors, Dina Chaika and Chelsea Sawyer, prior to Sunday's match. Admission is free and drink sleeves will be given away to fans at both matches.
Louisville (8-10, 0-9 ACC) is looking to snap a four-match losing skid heading into Friday's match. The Cardinals fell 7-0 to Boston College on Sunday. Tatiana Simova leads the team in singles with 10 wins and the pair of Simova and Andrea Di Palma have tallied nine wins in doubles. Head coach Mark Beckham is in his 14th season at the helm.
No. 41 Florida State (10-8, 3-6 ACC) is coming off a 4-1 win over Tulane on Apr. 2. Petra Hule leads the team in singles with a 16-1 record and is ranked 6th in the latest ITA singles rankings. The duo of Hule and Lesedi Jacobs is ranked 48th in the latest ITA doubles rankings. Head coach Jennifer Hyde is in her 23rd season leading the Seminoles.
No. 8 Miami (13-3, 7-2 ACC) defeated Columbia 6-1 on Apr. 1. The team will visit No. 44 Notre Dame on Friday before facing the Cardinals. The Hurricanes have defeated five top-25 opponents this season, including then No. 10 Duke and then No. 11 Virginia. No. 28 Deavenia Achong leads the team in singles with 15 wins and the pair of Audrey Boch-Collins and Isabella Pfennig have a 12-2 doubles record. Head coach Paige Yaroshuk-Tews is in her 21st season at the helm.
