Cardinals Sweep Eastern Kentucky

LOUISVILLE, Ky – The University of Louisville's women's tennis team remains undefeated after taking down Eastern Kentucky 7-0 on Sunday afternoon at home.
With the win, Louisville improves to 4-0 and EKU drops to 1-5.Â

The Cardinals jumped ahead early with Germany Davis and Lucia Gallegos taking the first win 6-1. Berta Miret and Elena Noguero quickly followed, winning 6-3 over Zhansaya Bakytzhan and Sasha Parkhomenko, clinching the doubles point for the Cards.

Noguero was the first to finish for Louisville, 6-3, 6-2. Anshika Jaswal finished second in straight sets against Bakytzhan, 6-2, 6-4. Miret clinched the win for the Cardinals, 6-2, 6-3, on Court 5. Lika Peresypkina and Alice Otis also collected wins in straight sets. Davis earned the final point in a third-set tiebreak to finish the match.

The Cards are back in action on Sunday, February 8th, at 12 pm at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
