Louisville Women’s Tennis Splits Weekend at ITA All-Americans and Cincinnati Invitational

LOUISVILLE, Ky. — The University of Louisville women's tennis team sent three players to the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, N.C., while the remaining players competed at the Cincinnati Invitational over the weekend.
Berta Miret competed in her first match of ITA All-Americans on Saturday morning. She took down seeded Nikola Daubnerova of Florida 6-4, 6-3. Elena Noguero fell to Blair Gill of Virginia Tech 4-6, 6-2, 5-7, claiming the second set before losing in the third.
On day two of All-Americans, Miret took down Cal's Naomi Xu 2-6, 7-6, 6-3, rallying back after dropping the first set. In her third matchup of the weekend, Miret fell to Anna Bella Bianca Bergqvist Larsson of South Carolina 3-6, 2-6.
During the Cincinnati Invitational, the Cardinals took home eight wins across singles and doubles. Julie Bedard won all three of her singles matches, and Samaya Smith went 2-1 in singles on the weekend.
Next up for the Cardinals will be a trip to Bloomington, Ind., to compete in the Indiana Invitational Oct. 2-4.
