Cards Sweep Southern Indiana to Stay Unbeaten

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team kept its winning streak alive at 5-0 with a 4-0 win over visiting Southern Indiana Sunday afternoon at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.Â

Louisville won the doubles point by sweeping all three courts. Berta Miret and Elena Noguero defeated Enna Krnjic and Sofia Davidoff 6-0 at No. 2. The No. 3 pair of Germany Davis and Lucia Gallegos struck next, downing Anais Negrail and Claire Meyer 6-1. Alice Otis and Lika Peresypkina made it a complete sweep with a 6-2 victory at No. 1.

The Cards carried their momentum over to the singles courts. At No. 6, Rebekkah Gaines downed Claire Meyer 6-1, 6-1 for the first point. Berta Miret beat Anais Negrail 6-1, 6-1 at No. 5 for the next point. Germany Davis clinched the match for the Cardinals at No. 2 with a 6-1, 6-0 win.Â

UofL is back in action on Feb. 13 at 4 p.m. when they host Notre Dame in the Atlantic Coast Conference opener at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center.
