Cards Set to Host Notre Dame and Indiana

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The University of Louisville women's tennis team is set to defend its undefeated homestand when the University of Notre Dame visits at 4 p.m. Friday, February 13, before taking on undefeated Indiana University on Sunday, February 15 at noon with both matches being contested at the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center. Â
Louisville continued its strong start with a clean sweep against Southern Indiana, 6-0 last Sunday. Germany Davis gave the Cards clinch points on both the doubles with Lucia Gallegos and at the No. 2 singles courts. At No. 1, in both singles and with Lika Peresypkina in doubles, Alice Otis remains undefeated.as well.
Notre Dame comes to the Bass-Rudd Tennis Center for its first true road match of the season. The Irish have started the season off at 8-1, with their sole loss coming at the ITA Kickoff, where they were swept by Vanderbilt. ND is coming off of a clean sweep against Illinois-Chicago. Freshman Jessica Kovalcik played a major role in the sweep last weekend. The Illinois native went 2-0 in singles, winning both her matches in straight sets. Bianca Molnar, ranked No.50 in singles and No.25 in doubles, won both matches, continuing her undefeated 7-0 singles record.
Indiana will make the short trip down south to play the Cards. Louisville traveled to Bloomington for the Indiana Invitational in early October, but this will be the first dual match up of the season against the Hoosiers. IU comes into the match with a record of 6-0 on the season. The Hoosiers recently beat Virginia Tech 4-1, with Tech's sole point coming from the doubles match. Indiana will have a match Friday at home against Bellarmine University before their match up with the Cards Sunday afternoon.
