Aidan Kreiley Finals in the 100 Breaststroke at Olympic Trials

Day 2 is in the books for Wave I
In a light day of racing for the University of Louisville swimming team, Aidan Kreiley stopped the clock at 1:03.16 in the B-Final of the 100M breaststroke at the US Olympic Trials Saturday night in Omaha.

The event was won by Zhier Fan's 1:01.74 and he will advance to Wave II. It was the first time he was under 1:02 for a personal best.
During prelims this morning, Louisville's Paige McCormick swam a a 5:05.12 in the 400M IM as the Cards' only other swimmer today.

Action picks up tomorrow at 11 a.m. with the 400M free, the 100M butterfly and the 200M backstroke on tap.
Â
The current Olympic Trials qualifying standards will allow athletes into the four-day Wave I meet, while a new, tougher standard will allow athletes into the Wave II meet. The top two finishers in each event at Wave I will be able to compete in the Wave II meet the following week, with the Olympic team selected from the Wave II results. USA Swimming is expecting around 19 more qualifiers per event.

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games are scheduled for Friday July 23, 2021 – Sunday August 8, 2021 in Tokyo, Japan.
