Freshman: Orbe added valuable depth to the Cardinals’ lineup during his first season at UofL. He won the 200 butterfly and took fourth in the 200 backstroke at the Louisville Invitational, earning a lifetime best in the latter. Orbe posted five top-6 finishes throughout the shortened dual meet season, highlighted by a fourth-place finish in the 200 butterfly against both Notre Dame and Cincinnati. He also took sixth in the 200 butterfly against Kentucky.

Prep: A native of Piscataway, New Jersey, Orbe joins the Cardinals after competing for Scarlet Aquatics where he was a U.S. Open and Olympic Trials qualifier. He placed 14th in the 200m butterfly at Junior Nationals in 2019 after doing the same at Juniors East in 2019. Over the past two years, he is an 11-time Sectional finalist and was the runner-up in the 200m butterfly at Indianapolis Sectionals in 2019. During his career at Saint Peter’s Prep School, he was a three-time New Jersey Meet of Champions finalist and was the runner-up in the 100 butterfly as a senior. Orbe holds best times of 50.08 in the 100 butterfly, 1:48.97 in the 200 butterfly, 51.55 in the 100 backstroke, and 1:48.21 in the 200 backstroke.
