
No. 12/14 Swimming Have Top Qualifiers in Every Event at UofL Invite Day 2 Prelims

The University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving team had almost 20 NCAA B-cuts in the second day of prelims and had the top qualifier in every race at the UofL Invitational.

In the 400-IM, Rachael Bradford Feldman qualified almost seven seconds ahead of the rest of the field with a 4:13.82. Marah Pugh touched second with a 4:20.84. Freshman Manuela Sampaio was third in 4:21.68.

For the men's 400-IM, Ryan Massey was the top qualifier with a time of 3:52.39. Zach Harting was second in 3:57.72 and Jake Schultz was fourth in 3:59.72.

In the 100-fly, Mallory Comerford had the top qualifying tie with a 53.32. Devon Bibault was fifth in 55:58.Â

In the men's 100-fly, Pedro Coutinho put up a pool record time of 46.36 and an NCAA B-cut time. Also with a B-cut was second place qualifier Josh Quallen (47.50) and  third place qualifier David Boland (48.21). Aaron Greene (48.70) and Zach Harting (49.59) also made the A-final tonight.

Andrea Kneppers went 1:45.00 in the 200-free to get a B-cut and set a meet record as the top qualifier. Abigail Houck was second in 1:47.15. Freshman Mallory Comerford was third in 1:47.94 and Emily Moser went 1:50.06 for fourth with Alexandra Sellers touching seventh in 1:52.02.

Trevor Carroll missed an A-cut meet .3 but set a meet record and made a B-cut with a 1:33.67. Matthias Lindenbauer was second in 1:34.54, Jonathan Zoucha was third in 1:35.93, Max Grodecki (1:37.10) and Ruben Izarra (1:37.47) all made B-cuts. Abel Aulbach made the A-final with a 1:39.81.

In the women's 100-breaststroke, Andrea Cottrell put up a 59.41 for a B-cut, making her the only swimmer under one minute. Lucy Kramer was second in 1:02.66 and Rachael Bradford Feldman was third in 1:02.77. Caitlin Ahern was fifth in 1:03.25 and Maggie Patterson made the A-final with a 1:04.93.

In the men's 100-breast, Carlos Claverie posted a 54.80 for a B-cut time. Brennan Berger was second in 55.26 for the other NCAA B-cut to come out of the event. Dexter Thomas was third in 55.76 and Todd Owen was fourth in 56.89.
