Bio
Junior: Aaron Greene continues to be a stalwart for the Cardinals in the backstroke. At NCAAs, he swam both the 100-and 200-back. At ACCs, he scored 39 points for the Cards. He was 11th in the 100-back finals (47.62), He made the A-finals in the 200-back where he finished 7th with a 1:42.70. In the dual meet season, he had wins in the 100-back versus Xavier and at the UofL Invitational (48.33). Other highlights in the 100-back include second places against Kentucky and Cincinnati. In the 200-back, he had wins versus Cincinnati and at the UofL Invite. Other highlights include a pair of seconds versus ACC foes UNC (1:45.70) and Florida State. At the Arena Pro Series in Indy, he was a finalist in the 100-meter fly (56.41) and a finalist in the 200-back with a finals time of 2:00.89. At Charlotte, he finalled in the 50-meter back, finishing 11th in 26.83. He was 8th in the 100-meter back with a 56.35. He was named to the All-ACC Academic team. He qualified for the US Olympic Team Trials.
Sophomore: Aaron was named All-ACC and scored 51 points at the ACC Championships with a bronze medal swim of 1:41.38 in the 200-back. He also finalled in the 100-back where he touched sixth in 46:82. At the NCAAs, he competed in both the 100- and 200-backstroke with a 23rd plsce in 1:42.05. At USA Short Course Nationals, Aaron finished 12 in the 100-back with a 47.85 and was second in the 200-back, going 1:42.56. He was a part of the silver medal 4x100 medley relay team with a leadoff split of 47.51. At the USA National Championships, he finished 31st in the 100-meter back with a 55.96. He was part of the 10th place 4x100 medley relay, splitting 56.24. Dual meet highlights include a win in the 100-fly (49.84) against Cincinnati and a second place in the 100-back versus Kentucky, when he went 49.06. He also helped beat the Cats in the 200-medley relay with a leadoff leg of 23.19. He won the 200-back against North Carolina in 1:45.10 and was third in the 100-back in 49.00. Against Florida State, he helped both the 200 medley relay (23.95 split) and the 400-medley relay (50.28 split) to first place finishes.
Freshman: Aaron placed in the top three of both backstroke events, coming in as the runner up in the 200-backstroke and placing third in the 100-backstroke. He was named to the All-American Conference team for his achievements and competed at the NCAA Championships in the 200-backstroke with a 41st overall finish. Aaron’s time of 1:42.21 places him 26th overall in that event, with the top time being 1:38.89.
Prep: Aaron Greene is from Fort Worth, Texas where he swam for North Texas Nadadores and Timber Creek High School. Greene is a three- time National Junior Team Member, a two- time Junior National champion in the 200-meter backstroke, and an Olympic Trial qualifier in the 100- and 200-meter backstroke. In Greene's senior year at Timber Creek High School he was crowned Texas 5A state champion in the 100-backstroke and runner-up in the 100-butterfly. Greene is an incoming Brown Fellow, and graduated top ten in his high school class.
Personal: Son of Shaun and Andrea Greene. Born September 9, 1994. Major is mechanical engineering.
