Bio
Sophomore: Jonathan Zoucha qualified for NCAAs as a relay swimmer. At the ACC Championships, he scored 32 points for the Cardinals. He made the podium in the 800-free relay with an anchor split of 1:35.08 as a part of the silver medal time of 6:14.96. He was fourth in the B-final in the 200-IM with a 1:45.96. He was second in the B-final in the 200-free with a 1:36.32. He was on the fourth place 400-free relay team that went 2:53.96, splitting 43.70. A sprinter, he was most successful as a 200-freestyler during the dual meet season with four top three finishes including a 1:37.26 at the UofL Invitational. He qualified for the US Olympic Team Trials in the 100-fly. At the Arena Pro Series in Indy, he finalled in the 100-meter fly (56.33). He was 10th in the 200-meter IM with a 2:05.28 in the finals. In the 100-meter freestyle finals, he posted a 52.37.
Freshman: In his first year with the Cardinals, Jonathan provided depth in relay races along with freestyle events. At the NCAAs, he competed in the 800-free relay team that finished 14th, swimming the third leg in 1:36.91. He recorded his season-best time with a B-cut of 1:46.92 in the 200 IM at the Louisville Invitational. He was the third finisher in the 200 free when he swam 1:38.61 at the Louisville Invitational. Zoucha finished third in the 200 free with at time of 1:42.02 against Cincinnati. He was fifth in the 200-IM with a 1:52.59 in the North Carolina meet.
Prep: Jonathan joins the Cardinals from Portland, Oregon where he swam for Adam Farber at Sunset High School and also competed for Thunderbolt Swimming Club. At Sunset High School, he was a four-time state champion as well as the Oregon Swimmer of the Year and Sunset High School Athlete of the Year. Jonathan was also a Nationals qualifier in five events.
Personal: Son of Roger Adams and Jenine Zoucha-Adams. Born on March 14, 1996. Major is sports administration.
