Junior: Maggie missed a portion of her junior year under concussion protocol. Dual meet season in highlights include a 23.77 in the 50-free at the UofL Invitational and a 23.87 versus regional power Indiana. She boarded a 51.85 in the 100-free at the UofL Invitational. She lent her racing savvy to relays with highlights including a 23.52 anchor of the 200-medley relay at the UofL Invitational where she also anchored the 400 free relay with a split of 53.41.
Sophomore: Maggie Patterson added depth at the breaststroke for the Cardinals and earned All-American Honors along the way. She swam the anchor leg of fifth place 200 free relay, splitting 22.51 at the ACC Championship. She also was seventh in the C final of 200 breast, posting a time of 2:18.04 at the ACCs. At the USA Short Course Nationals, Maggie was the third leg on the fourth place 200-free relay squad, splitting 23.10. At the NCAAs, she was part of the 200-free relay team that made the A-final with an eighth place finish with Patterson splitting 22.64. Highlights of her dual season included a third place in the 100-breast versus Xavier, and a sixth place in the 100-breast at the Michigan Quad meet with a 1:04.03. Against Cincinnati, she was second in the 100-breat and was on the winning 200-free relay team. Against archrival Kentucky, she was second in the 100-breast, fourth in the 200-breast and second as a part of the 400-free relay. At the Arena Pro Series in Charlotte, she was 30th in the 50-meter fly finals.
Prep: Maggie Patterson joins the Cardinals after a year at Western Kentucky. In prep, she swam at Paris High School under Coach Jami Dailey. A six-time state champion and All-State Selection at Paris High School, Maggie also qualified for Junior Nationals in 2013 and the US Open and Olympic Trials.
