April 27, 2026 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball team wraps up a five-game homestand with a Tuesday night contest against Indiana. First pitch is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET. The game will be televised on ACC Network Extra with radio coverage available on 93.9 The Ville.
CARDS SWEEP CLEMSON
Louisville picked up its first sweep in conference play of the season taking all three games against Clemson over the weekend. The Cardinals got seven home runs from the trio of Jimmy Nugent, Tague Davis and Ben Slanker in the series.
LOUISVILLE ON FIVE-GAME WINNING STREAK
With the weekend sweep, the Cardinals head into Tuesday on a five-game winning streak. Louisville is averaging better than 10 runs per game over that stretch with 24 extra-base hits, including 12 home runs.
INDIANA SERIES HISTORY
Louisville and Indiana will meet for the 56th time on Tuesday with the Hoosiers holding a 29-26 edge in the series. The Cardinals have won the last two meetings at Jim Patterson Stadium, winning in the 2022 regular season and 2019 NCAA Regional.

PLAYER NOTES
THE NEW SINGLE-SEASON HOME RUN KING IN THE VILLE
Tague Davis launched his 26th home run of the season in the eighth inning of the series finale against Clemson, breaking Louisville's single-season home run record that had stood for more than 50 years.
Davis surpassed Randy Delph, who set the mark in 1974, and Chris Dominguez, who matched it in 2009.
The sophomore needed just 44 games to eclipse the record.
DAVIS PUTTING TOGETHER RECORD-SETTING SOPHOMORE SEASON
Tague Davis was special as a freshman in 2025, setting Louisville's freshman home run record with 18 and earning Freshman All-America honors. However, his game has gone to another level this spring.
Davis enters Tuesday with 26 home runs and 76 RBIs, the national leader in both categories.
His 76 RBIs are the most by a Louisville player since Ryan Wright had 80 in 2010 and just 12 shy of the single-season mark with 12 games remaining in the regular season.
CARDS, MOORE HIT THE CENTURY MARK IN STOLEN BASES
Louisville has been among the best teams in the country on the basepaths since Dan McDonnell was hired in 2007.
This season is no exception, as the Cards rank top 20 nationally with 105 stolen bases as a team. Louisville has hit the century mark for the 12th time in the last 14 full seasons.
Lucas Moore leads the ACC with 30 stolen bases on the season, giving him 100 for his career. The junior is just the second player in program history and eighth in ACC history to tally 100 stolen bases.
CARDINALS PITCHERS, CATCHER CONTROLLING OPPONENT RUNNING GAME
While the Louisville offense has been running wild on the bases, the Louisville pitchers and catchers have stifled the opposition in that department.
Opponents are just 25-for-51 stealing against the Cards, including a 4-for-15 mark in conference play. Louisville's 51 percent caught stealing rate ranks third nationally, while the 26 runners caught is tied for first in the country.
Louisville has also picked off 15 runners this season, the third-most in the country.

TEAM NOTES
- Louisville has an .810 winning percentage (204-48) in regular season non-conference games since the start of 2016.
- The Cardinals have picked up the pace on the basepaths in the last two weeks, swiping at least three bases in 10 of the last 14 games and 50 overall during that span.
PLAYER NOTES
- Tague Davis set the Louisville freshman home run record with 18 long balls in his first season. He has blown past that total as a sophomore with 26 through 44 games, breaking Louisville's single-season record. Davis enters Tuesday as the national leader in homers and RBIs. He also ranks second in slugging percentage and total bases, leading the ACC both. Davis recorded his third and fourth multi-homer games of the season during the Cal series, including the first three-homer game of his career.
- Lucas Moore led the country with 53 stolen bases as a sophomore, the second-highest total in program history. He heads into Tuesday 30-for-34 this season, leading the ACC and ranking eighth nationally. Moore now has 100 career stolen bases, second on Louisville's career chart. He is currently 12 behind Boomer Whiting for the top spot. Moore has also moved into a tie for sixth place all-time among ACC players.
- Jimmy Nugent transferred to Louisville after tallying 22 doubles, 18 home runs and 74 RBIs in two seasons at Lincoln Trail. The junior saw his batting average dip to .287 following the Stanford series, the lowest it had been since the season's opening month. Nugent has caught fire over the last two weeks though, going 14-for-27 (.519) with three doubles, four homers and 12 RBIs in his last seven games. That stretch has raised his average up to .339 and he capped off Louisville's weekend sweep of Clemson with a walk-off two-run homer, his second long ball of the day.
