No. 9/6 Louisville Set for No. 3/9 Indiana and Cincinnati

Cards host Senior Day on Saturday against Cincinnati
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The No. 9/6-ranked University of Louisville men's and women's swimming and diving teams head to Bloomington, Ind. to take on the No. 3/9 Indiana Hoosiers on Friday at Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatics Center with action set to start at 2 p.m. ET. On Saturday, the Cards will return home to host the Cincinnati Bearcats at 12 p.m. ET at Ralph Wright Natatorium for Senior Day. Both meets will have live results available on the Meet Mobile app and DiveMeets.
UofL enters the meets coming off a successful weekend at the Texas Showdown, where the women's 488 points upset No. 2 Texas (487) and beat No. 12 Ohio State (227). The men's squad came in second with 459 points, behind only No. 1 Texas (540) but in front of No. 10 Ohio State (159).
Anastasia Gorbenko had a dominant performance for the Cardinal women, winning five individual events including the 50 breast (26.28), 200 breast (2:07.45), 100 IM (52.42), 100 breast (57.67) and 200 IM (1:53.53), while setting program records in both the 100 breast and 200 IM. Gorbenko earned nation-leading times in the 50 breast and 100 IM, and ranks No. 2 in the 100 breast, No. 3 in the 200 IM, and No. 8 in the 200 breast. Gorbenko also helped the 400-medley relay, 200-medley relay and 400 free relay secure victory and earned ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her efforts.
On the men's side, freshman sprinter Nikita Sheremet took first in the 100 free (41.96) setting a freshman record and ranking No. 4 in school history. Sheremet helped the 200-free relay claim victory and the eighth fastest time in the program's record book.

Last season, the No. 10-ranked UofL women upset No. 6 IU 170-130, while the No. 11-ranked Cardinal men fell to No. 2 Hoosiers 110.50-189.50. Both teams swept Cincinnati the next day, with the men winning 209.5-84.5 and the women coming out on top 210-87.

Miranda Grana ranks No. 3 in the nation in the 100 back (49.89), 200 back (1:49.06), and 100 fly (49.98). Ella Rosseli holds the second highest platform diving score in the country at 300.60.
About the Bearcats
The Cincinnati men and women come to town with wins against Northern Kentucky, Miami (OH) and Xavier, while both teams fell to Purdue and Indiana. The Bearcat women fell to Miami, but topped Oakland and Florida Atlantic with the men dropping both matchups. The women took seventh and the men finished eighth at the Ohio State Invite, and both teams placed second at the Big 12 Dual Meet East Championships. Ramez Sobhy leads the men, coming in at No. 9 nationally in platform diving (350.75). Joleigh Cyre paces the women, ranking No. 6 in the country in the 50 breast (26.93) and No. 7 in the 100 breast (57.99).
