Louisville Baseball Earns ABCA Team Academic Excellence Award

The Cardinals have received the award every year since its creation in 2015-16.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program was a recipient of the 2024-25 American Baseball Coaches Association Team Academic Excellence Award.
The award highlights programs coached by ABCA members that posted a GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale for the entire 2024-25 academic year. Louisville has received the honor every year since its creation in 2015-16.
Louisville is one of seven Division I schools to earn the distinction in each of the 10 years, and one of only three Power Four schools.
The Cardinals earned the award after wrapping up their 28th consecutive semester with a team GPA of 3.0 or higher, posting a 3.553 cumulative team grade point average during the spring.
Louisville had a multitude of student-athletes recognized for their work in the classroom this season. Eddie King Jr. and Zion Rose were each named College Sports Communicators Academic All-Americans, while Rose was the NCAA Elite 90 Award Winner for having the highest GPA at the College World Series.
The Cardinals also had 22 student-athletes named to the Academic All-ACC Team.
On the field, Louisville put together a 42-24 overall record in 2025 and reached the College World Series for the sixth time in program history.
