Cards Stand in 12th After Day 1 at NCAA Championships

FEDERAL WAY, Wash. -- The University of Louisville stands in 12th place after two events on the first day of racing at the 2025 NCAA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships at the Weyerhaeuser King County Aquatic Center.

The Cardinals finished 10th in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:22.82 put up by Dalton Lowe (21.02), Denis Petrashov (22.80), Rian Graham (20.12) and Guy Brooks (18.88). Texas won the event in 1:20.28. Florida was disqualified on an exchange after setting an NCAA record of 1:20.05.

In the 800 freestyle relay, the Cardinals clocked in at 15th place with a time of 6:12.18 posted by Murilo Sartori (1:32.25), Guy Brooks (1:33.67), Denis Loktev (1:32.16) and Gregg Enoch (1:34.10). Â California set an NCAA Record in the 800 free relay, becoming the first team in history to break 6:00 in the event as the Bears posted a time of 5:59.75 for the championship.

Tomorrow, the meet will feature a full complement of events beginning with the 500 freestyle, the 200 individual medley, 50 freestyle, 1-meter diving, and 200 freestyle relay.
Swimming prelims begin at 1 p.m. EDT, with the full finals session commencing at 9 p.m.

The Cardinals are also qualified in the 200 medley relay, the 800 free relay, 200 free relay, 400 medley relay and the 400 free relay.
