TEAM NOTES
- UofL is 58-33-2 in its 93 all-time ACC series (one series ended 1-1, one ended 1-1-1) since joining the league and is 63-27-1 in its series finales during that span, including a 22-14-1 record in rubber games.
- Louisville owns 173 conference wins since joining the ACC in 2015, the most conference wins during that time of any current Power Four school.
- The Louisville offense has tallied double digit hits in 13 of 20 games to start the season, going 12-1 in those contests. The Cards notched at least 10 hits 29 times in 2024, posting a 22-7 mark when doing so.
- Louisville is a perfect 14-0 when hitting a home run this season.
- The Cardinals have more free passes as an offense than strikeouts, tallying 92 walks and 34 HBPs to just 107 strikeouts.
- Louisville is undefeated (13-0) when it limits the opposition to five runs or less and 16-1 when its opponent is kept in single digits.
PLAYER NOTES
- Jake Munroe has made an immediate impact in the middle of Louisville's lineup. The junior college All-American is third in the ACC in batting average, and ranks fourth in on-base percentage, fifth in hits, seventh in triples, 12th in runs, 13th in total bases and slugging and 19th in RBIs. Munroe has a hit in 17 of 20 games this season and leads the team with 11 multi-hit games.
- Lucas Moore has been the ultimate table-setter at the top of the lineup for the Cards. Moore leads the Cardinals with 31 runs scored and tops the ACC in runs per game. The speedy outfielder is also a perfect 14-for-14 in stolen bases, the second-highest total in the conference. Moore carries an 18-game on-base and run streak into the weekend.
- Zion Rose has an exception freshman campaign that saw him hit .380 with 19 extra-base hits and 32 RBIs while finishing with more walks than strikeouts. The start to 2025 has seen more of the same but with more damage. Rose is hitting .346 and already has 12 extra-base hits and 22 RBIs in just 20 games. The increase in production hasn't affected his plate discipline though, as he has nine walks to just 10 strikeouts.
- Peter Michael transferred to Louisville with a career 13.25 ERA after one year each at San Diego and Northwestern. However, the right-hander has taken huge steps forward as the Sunday starter for the Cards. Michael is 3-0 with a 1.82 ERA through five starts with 28 strikeouts in 24.2 innings. Michael turned in the best start of his career against North Carolina, taking a no-hitter into the seventh and finishing with just one hit allowed.
- Patrick Forbes is racking up strikeouts at a pace few Louisville pitchers have ever done. Through his first five starts, the right-hander has 45 strikeouts in just 25 innings. He currently ranks second in the ACC and top 10 nationally in strikeouts and strikeouts per nine. Reid Detmers set Louisville's single season strikeout record with 167 in 2019. Through his first five starts that season, Detmers had racked up 50 punchouts.
- Wyatt Danilowicz missed all of the 2024 season due to injury, but has been outstanding in his return to the mound. In eight relief appearances, the southpaw has allowed just one unearned run over 9.1 innings with 14 strikeouts. Danilowicz earned his first career save in the weekend finale against UIC, recording the final four outs.
- Ethan Eberle has had an excellent start to his collegiate career as a key piece of the Louisville bullpen. The lefty has allowed just one run over 7.0 innings, striking out 10. Eberle earned his first career victory against North Carolina with three shutout frames, retiring nine of the 10 batters he faced.
