TEAM NOTES
- Louisville is 10-0 all-time in ACC openers, including a 9-6 victory over Virginia Tech last season, and has won the opening conference series in eight of its 10 seasons in the ACC.
- UofL is 57-33-2 in its 92 all-time ACC series (one series ended 1-1, one ended 1-1-1) since joining the league and is 62-27-1 in its series finales during that span, including a 21-14-1 record in rubber games.
- The Cardinals have won 33 of their 45 ACC series at home since debuting in the conference.
- Louisville owns 171 conference wins since joining the ACC in 2015, the most conference wins during that time of any current Power Four school.
- The Cardinals cranked up the running game in the last two weeks, swiping 21 bases in the last six games. Louisville is currently third in the ACC with 36 overall.
- The Louisville offense has tallied double digit hits in 11 of 16 games to start the season, going 10-1 in those contests. The Cards notched at least 10 hits 29 times in 2024, posting a 22-7 mark when doing so.
- Louisville hitters have kept their strikeouts to a minimum on the homestand, striking six times or less in all 13 games.
- The Cardinals have nearly equal walk and strikeout numbers this season, taking 78 free passes to just 81 strikeouts.
PLAYER NOTES
- Jake Munroe has made an immediate impact in the middle of Louisville's lineup. The junior college All-American leads the ACC in hits, and ranks third in batting average, fourth in triples, sixth in runs, seventh in on-base percentage and ninth in total bases. Munroe has a hit in 14 of 16 games this season and leads the team with 10 multi-hit games.
- Tague Davis came to Louisville as a highly touted prospect and has lived up to the billing early. The freshman has been one of the top hitters in the ACC, ranking second in home runs and slugging percentage. He is also ninth in on-base percentage and 11th in RBIs. Davis is also in the top 10 nationally among freshmen in home runs (2nd), slugging (3rd), RBIs (4th), OBP (5th) and batting average (8th). Over his last nine games, Davis is hitting .500 (14-for-28) with six home runs, 16 RBIs, 11 runs, seven walks and only three strikeouts.
- Matt Klein had a breakout summer in the Cape Cod League that saw him hit .375 for the Cotuit Kettleers. His hitting ways have continued to start the spring, as he has recorded multiple hits in eight games and multiple RBIs in eight as well. Klein leads the Cards and ranks eighth in the ACC with 22 driven in.
- Lucas Moore has been the ultimate table-setter at the top of the lineup for the Cards. Moore leads the Cardinals with 25 runs scored and tops the ACC in runs per game. The speedy outfielder is also a perfect 12-for-12 in stolen bases, the second-highest total in the conference.
- Patrick Forbes has been dominant in his first four starts of 2025. The right-hander has surrendered just three earned runs over 21 innings, striking out 39 batters to just three walks. Opponents have managed just 14 hits against Forbes, who is currently leading the ACC in strikeout-to-walk ratio and second in strikeouts. His 39 punchouts are the third-most by a Louisville pitcher through the first four weekends, trailing only Reid Detmers in 2020 (48) and 2019 (41).
- Peter Michael transferred to Louisville with a career 13.25 ERA after one year each at San Diego and Northwestern. However, the right-hander has taken huge steps forward as the Sunday starter for the Cards. Michael is 2-0 with a 2.45 ERA through four starts with 21 strikeouts in 18.1 innings.
- Brennyn Cutts has been excellent through his first five appearances in a Louisville uniform. The 2024 Missouri Valley Conference Pitcher of the Year has allowed just two runs in 11.2 innings across five relief appearances. Cutts earned victories with 3.2 shutout frames against Western Michigan and 2.0 more versus St. John's.
- Wyatt Danilowicz missed all of the 2024 season due to injury, but has been outstanding in his return to the mound. In six relief appearances, the southpaw has allowed just one unearned run over 6.2 innings with 12 strikeouts. Danilowicz earned his first career save in the weekend finale against UIC, recording the final four outs.
