No. 12/7 Cards Set to Host No. 21/NR Kentucky and No. 25/NR Notre Dame

LOUISVILLE Ky. – The No. 12/7 ranked University of Louisville men's and women's swim and dive teams return home to Ralph Wright Natatorium to host the No. 21/NR Kentucky Wildcats on Thursday and the No. 25/NR Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Friday. Competition is set to start at 4:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, and 6:00 p.m. ET on Friday. Both meets will be streamed on ACCNX and live results will be available on the Meet Mobile App.
The Cardinals enter their fourth meet of the year and are coming off a sweep of No. 6/4 Tennessee and No. 20/20 Auburn last Thursday, October 30.
In Knoxville, the Louisville women beat No. 4 Tennessee 154-144 and No. 20 Auburn 180.5-119.5. The Cardinal men outscored No. 6 Tennessee 145.5-136.5 and No. 20 Auburn 184-99. For the women, Julia Dennis won the 50 free with a time of 21.21, which ranks second in NCAA D1. Julie Mishler, Caroline Larsen, Ella Welch, and Dennis swam the second fastest 200 medley relay in school history with a time of 1:34.21, ranking third in the country. They also recorded the nation-leading 400 free relay time of 3:10.27, ranking seventh in school history. Dennis won ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week for her efforts. On the men's side, Nikita Sheremet broke his own freshman record in the 50 free with a time of 19.13, which currently ranks eight in the country. Rian Graham, Finnley Conklin, Aiden Musso, and Sheremet produced the fourth fastest 200 medley relay in the nation with a time of 1:23.58. Filip Kosinski won ACC Men's Swimmer of the Week for his win in both the 100 back (46.23) and 200 back (1:41.41).

In 2024's battle of the bluegrass, the No. 15/8 Cards swept the Wildcats, with the women winning 210-90 and the men winning 209.5-88.5. This year, No. 21/NR University of Kentucky men's and women's swim and dive team come to town for their third competition of the season after falling to both No. 2/8 Indiana and No. 14/21 LSU. For the men's squad, Carson Hick (15:06.63) and Levi Sandidge (15:10.08) hold the second and third fastest 1650 free times in the country. On the women's side, Libby Grether ranks 33rd in the nation for the 1000 Free with a time of 9:51.34.

On the men's team, Jeremy Kelly ranks fifth in the nation in the 100 IM with a time of 48.77. Ben Nguyen ranks ninth in the country in 3-meter diving with a score of 369.00. For the women, Hollie Widdows 100 IM time of 55.07 ranks second nationally. Grace Courtney was named ACC Women's Diver of the Week on October 28 for her efforts versus Northwestern.
