October 23, 2025 | Baseball
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The University of Louisville baseball program has entered into an arrangement to add Aaron Flaker as a Baseball Player Personnel Consultant.
Flaker's role will include connecting prospective companies and businesses with Louisville baseball student-athletes to create new Name, Image and Likeness opportunities. His duties will also include assisting with the Louisville Baseball Dugout Club, driving financial support for facility improvements and upgrades, alumni relations, and helping to increase community awareness, engagement and support of Louisville baseball.
"Aaron Flaker is one of the first people I met when we moved to Louisville 20 years ago," McDonnell said. "I've watched him grow firsthand as a husband, father and successful businessman. Combine that with his loyalty and passion for not just Louisville baseball, but our entire athletic department, and this is a home run hire.
"I love our student-athletes and have tirelessly fought to provide them with the best opportunities available. In the ever-changing landscape of college athletics, this should help our program remain among the elite in college baseball."
The namesake and provider of the lead gift for the Flaker Family Pro Locker Room that opened in 2019 at Jim Patterson Stadium, Flaker has been involved with the Louisville baseball program and the Louisville Baseball Dugout Club for more than a decade.
"This is truly a dream opportunity for someone who grew up playing and later coaching baseball right here in Louisville," Flaker said. "While my personal and professional journey has taken me in many directions over the years, the game of baseball has always found a way to reconnect with me — and this new role at the highest level of collegiate baseball is a perfect example of that.
"The University of Louisville and this community are part of my DNA and woven into every fiber of who I am. It's an incredible honor to serve in a leadership capacity within such an elite and storied program. UofL Athletics' creation of this innovative new position is a testament to its deep commitment to its programs, its coaches, and most importantly, its student-athletes."
A two-time graduate of the University of Louisville, Flaker earned his undergraduate degree in Business Administration in 1994 and graduated with his Master of Business Administration in 1998.
Flaker's background is deeply rooted in baseball dating back to his days at Male High School in Louisville and Western Kentucky University. The Louisville native was also a founder of the now Louisville Baseball Club travel organization, a Director of Player Development and Operations at St. Xavier High School, and now works as a current co-owner and founder of Athletx Sports Group.
The Louisville baseball program is coming off its sixth College World Series appearance in 2025. The Cardinals have the fourth-most wins nationally since Dan McDonnell's first season in 2007.
WHAT THEY'RE SAYING…
"As college athletics continue to evolve, having someone like Aaron in this position is essential to assisting with attracting the best talent in the country. UofL Athletics and the baseball program are both already in a great position, but to remain a national powerhouse in baseball, we must keep pushing forward in new and innovative ways. I've known Aaron for 15+ years, and his unmatched drive and business insight make him the right person to lead that charge."
–Adam Duvall, University of Louisville (2009-10), 2014 & 2021 World Series Champion
"Aaron Flaker is exactly who you want in this exciting new role! His blue collar work ethic, absolute integrity, and ability to connect with all levels of people are part of why this makes perfect sense for Dan McDonnell and Louisville Baseball. His business acumen, impressive network and attention to detail will set him apart in the innovative new world of building support for premier collegiate athletics programs like Louisville. Flaker is a leader and a winner who has excelled in everything from building multiple successful businesses to beating cancer. He is born and raised Louisville. His passion will without a doubt be a huge asset for his alma mater and first love, The University of Louisville Cardinals."
–Luke Hancock, University of Louisville (2011-14), 2013 National Champion
"I'm very excited to give Aaron a full and complete endorsement for this incredible opportunity. Aaron is not only a great person, he's a great neighbor of mine that I've become very close with over the years! We are both from Louisville and come from the same type of work ethic and people skills that are needed to do a job such as this. Aaron strives to help other people in so many ways and will be an incredible asset for Coach McDonnell and the UofL Baseball program! Can't wait for Aaron to have the opportunity to show what a local and highly successful entrepreneur can do for our school! Go Cards!"
–Chris Redman, University of Louisville (1996-99), UofL Athletics Hall of Fame Class of 2014
"The addition of Aaron Flaker to the UofL Baseball program is not only a wise investment for the success of the program, but he is also a valuable addition to the culture and family of UofL Baseball. Aaron has long been a positive fixture within UofL Athletics and he is well loved in the community. He has a deep love and care for the athletes and coaches at UofL and a true desire to grow the success of UofL Baseball.
